Titre : Modified epoxy resin systems for good colour and gloss enhancement and strength improvement of light coloured marble Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jitendra Bhatia, Auteur ; Omprakash Gupta, Auteur ; Mahesh Soni, Auteur Année de publication : 2012 Article en page(s) : p. 53-56 Note générale : Bibliogr.

The main objective behind development of novel epoxy resin system is to attain such properties along with good water and chemical resistance. The resulting treated and polished stone showed significant gloss, colour enhancement, good water resistance, improved alkali, and acid resistance. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Since some time, there has been a trend in the waterborne decorative paints market to formulate matt interior wall paints at higher pigment volume concentration (PVC) as the binder is one of the paint ingredients which contributes significantly to the overall paint cost. On the other hand, it is well known that lowering the amount of binder in a waterborne paint formulation has a clear negative impact on the paint performance ; especially it will lower the scrub resistance. Therefore, lattices with high binding power need to be used in such paint formulation. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13846

Revêtements -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Widely used for 40 years, BIT has become the main building block for in-can preservation but has some perceived weaknesses, which can be overcome by using it in combination with other biocides. Now, by combining BIT with zinc omadine antimicrobial and thus joining an electrophilic activity with a membrane activity, it is possible to create a biocide that can both inhibit the growth bacteria and actively break down the cell membrane. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsions, (VAEs) were introduced into the commercial market more than 50 years ago. However, it was not until early in the last decade that VAE emulsions gaines a growing importance in the market for architectural coatings and paints especially for formulations with a good cost performance balance and low environmental impact.
Today, high-quality of binders based on vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymers are becoming more and more important in the paints and coatings industry. Although the benefits of polymerizing a hard monomer (vinyl acetate, VA) and soft, hydrophobic monomer (ethylene, E) have long been recognized, until relatively recently, the costs of VAE copolymer emulsions were ofter too high to be widely utilized in the coatings market.
However, improved production processes, higher productivity, as well as changes in raw material availability and prices have resulted increased popularity of VAE copolymer emulsions over the last ten to 15 years. Nowadays, VAE-based products are used as high-quality binders in construction chemicals, adhesives, plasters, engineered fabrics and increasingly, in the field of paints and coatings.Note de contenu : - The fundamentals of VAE technology

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In key markets around Asia Pacific, more and more decorative coatings are being positioned as being green. Despite this, around 40 % of the Asia Pacific decorative coatings market still remains predominantly solvent based. A substantial portion of this 40 % solvent borne paint market is alkyd paints for gloss/trimpaints (enamels). Hence, to compliment their current offering paint companies across Asia Pacific are looking for a suitable binder for formulating water based gloss/trim paints.

Revêtements organiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyurethane topcoats are the acknoledged quality standard in steel constructions. Whether cranes, bridges, offshore or marine - whenever steel needs to be protected from corrosion and weather stable coatings with long lasting appearance are required, polyurethane topcoats are the preferred solution. In this paper, the weathering performance of two-component polyurethane topcoats used in corrosion protection applications, e.g. bridges, marine, stadia, etc., is discussed with emphasis on some key formulating variables. Variables such as isocyanate index and resin selection are compared in an accelerated weathering study using various polyurethane topcoats. The results are referenced to SSPC polyurethane coatings specifications which are often in the industry to define performance criteria.
