Régénération (biologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The epidermis is one of the most active tissues in terms of regeneration. Epidermal basal cells are mostly responsible for preserving the self-renewal properties of the skin, with age, these cells lose their efficiency, leading to a slowdown of the division process, a reduction of functional keratinocytes and the consequent emergence of aging signs on the skin. In order to help reactivate basal cells and to allow the self-renewing properties of the epidermis last longer, a cosmetic active ingredient was developed inspired by epigenetics. This ingredient can assist in the reactivation of basal cells for an accelerated turnover of the epidermis. When evaluated on the skin of volunteers a smoother, a more radiant and younger-looking appearance was observed. Note de contenu : - Modulation of miR-145 and induction of stem cell factors
- Favoring progenitor cells of the epidermis
- Renewal and smoothing of the skin surface
- Radiant and better-looking skin

PeptidesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Inflammatory overreactions are linked to skin redness, dilated capillaries, skin flushing, hyperpigmentation and other disturbing skin manifestations that affect millions of individuals. Although its etiology is uncertain, the natural response of the immune system to damaging agents has a clearly relevant role, with kallikreins and antimicrobial compounds (like cathelicidins) being key elements.
Active cathelicidins trigger a cascade of reactions that lead to a rise in pro-inflammatory cytokines and interleukins, which results in inflammation also alters skin firmness and elasticity by degrading extracellular matrix compounds.
In skin with redness, the active cathelicidin LL-37 and the interleukins interleukin-6 and IL-8 present at abnormally high levels, so their diminution should consequently help to decrease the undesired visible effects. Acetyl tetrapeptide-40 not only reduced the LL-37-induced interleukin-6 and IL-8 levels, collagen degradation, melanogenesis and tyrosinase activity (linked to hyperpigmentation) i nvitro but strongly reduced facial redness, erythema and its extent in volunteers with mild rosacea after just one week. After four weeks, it provided excellent results, with visible facial improvements. Additionally, this peptide provided a noticeable photoprotective in vitro effect. Thus, this peptide is an excellent option to reduce skin redness and its associated consequences.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Inhibition of the release of LL-37-induced interleukins - Anti-collagenase assay - Anti-tyrosinase assay - Melanogenesis inhibition on human epidermal melanocytes - Photoprotection test on human dermal fibroblasts - Dermatological evaluation

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : With temperatures reaching below - 40°C, and barely any solar light for six months of the year, the Antarctic is one of the regions with the hardest conditions for organisms to live in. Surprisingly, however, the Antarctic has a very diverse microbial ecosystem that is able to resist such extreme cold conditions. These microorganisms have been particularly studied for their ability to produce compounds with beneficial properties for the human skin, which can offer interesting additional value to cosmetic formulations.
