SpectrophotométrieIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : A flow-injection spectrophotometric method for the determination of aluminium(III) has been described. The method is based on the reaction Al(III) with morin to form a yellow complex with maximum absorption at 425nm in the presence of cationic surfactant CPC and glacial acetic acid. In the presence of cationic surfactant CPC, the sensitivity of the chromogenic reaction was greatly improved. Under the optimized conditions, calibration graphs for Al(III) are linear in the range 5-150g l-1 with a detection limit of 0.0125g l-1 (3σ). The reproducibility was satisfactory with a relative standard deviation of 1.7% for ten determinations of 50μg l-1 Al(III). With a sample solution of 450μl being injected, the sampling frequency is 60/h. SpectrophotométrieIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A simple flow injection spectrophotometric method based on the reaction of malachite green with sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) was proposed to determine surfactants in leather wastewater. SDBS was determined in a Na2HPO4 -KH2PO4 buffer solution (pH7.0) at 622nm. Under the optimum conditions, the linear range for SDBS was 0.05-3.0mg l-1, and the relative standard deviation (n = 9) for 0.5mg/L SDBS was 0.81%. The proposed FI method has been applied to the determination of anionic surfactants in leather wastewater with satisfactory results. SpectrophotométrieIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A sensitive and relatively interference-free spectrometric method for determination of formaldehyde in leather wastewater is described. The method is based on the combination of chromotropic acid with formaldehyde under acidic conditions with heating. The absorbance of the complex is measured spectrophotometrically at 390nm.
Chemical factors and FIA variables affecting the system are also discussed. The linearity concentration range of the calculation curve was from 0.05 to 1000mg l-1 of standard solutions. The relative standard deviation was 0.42% (n = 11) obtained by injecting 200∝g l-1 standard formaldehyde solution. The detection limit was 0.003mg l-1 calculated from three times the average background noise. The proposed method was successfully applied to determine formaldehyde in varied samples of leather wastewater.Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Apparatus - Reagents - Sample preparation - Analytical procedure

FormaldéhydeIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A new simple and sensitive reverse flow injection chemiluminescence (FI-CL) method is described for the determination of formaldehyde. The method is based on the CL-Emitting reaction between ninhydrin and potassium permanganate in hydrochloric acid medium, enhanced by formaldehyde (HCHO). The calibration curve is linear in the range of 0.002 to 10µg ml-1 with r=0.9995, and the limit of detection is 4.6 x 10-4µg ml-1. The relative standard deviation for replicate measurements is 1.5 % for 4µg ml-1 of formaldehyde. The chemical and flow injection variables were studied and optimized to make the procedure suitable for determination of formaldehyde in water. It is shown that the reverse flow injection analysis could greatly improve the sensitivity and precision for determination of formaldehyde. The procedure has been applied successuflly to the determination of formaldehyde in leather wastewater, and the results were statistically compared with results determined by a standard method.

Tannage Résumé : A rapid, reliable and sensitive online method was proposed to determine sulfide ion in tannery effluent based on the combination of methylene blue spectrophotometry and automatic reference Flow Injection Analysis. In acidic media with Fe3+, without any process of H2S absorption or sample pre-distillation, sulfide could be determined directly by the automatic reference FIA function of an automatic metallic elements analyzer using p-aminodimethylaniline dimethylaniline (C6H4•NH2•N (CH3)2•2HCl) as colour developing reagent. Under the optimal conditions, the linear ranges of this method were 0.01 - 0.25 and 0.20 - 2.16µg/ml; the detection limit was 4.642ng/ml, and relative standard deviations were 2.5% (n = 8) for a 3 x diluted tannery effluent. Asatisfied result was achieved with the proposed method to determine the sulfide in tannery effluent, and then the range of recovery percentages was 96.0 - 104.0%.
