Surfaces (Physique)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this work, epoxy/2pack coatings containing polyaniline (PANI) in combination with Ag and ZnO nanoparticles have been synthesized. The nanoparticles were incorporated with bisphenol-A diglycidyl ether epoxy resin and polyamino-amide. The mechanical properties of the fabricated coatings, such as the pendulum hardness, scratch resistance, and impact strength, were studied. The composition of the fabricated coatings was confirmed by attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy measurements. The thermal degradation and indentations were characterized through the use of differential scanning calorimetry and nano-indentation techniques, respectively. The surface morphology of the fabricated coatings was characterized using field-emission scanning electron microscopy. The synergistic effects of the Ag and ZnO nanoparticles on the corrosion resistance of the coatings after different exposure periods in 3.5% NaCl solutions were determined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. All the results were consistent with one another and confirmed that the addition of Ag and ZnO nanoparticles improved the mechanical properties of the coatings. This effect also led to a notable increase in the corrosion resistance of the PANI coatings. Note de contenu : - ATR-IR measurement

TriméthylolpropaneIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Polyurethane flame retardant coatings are composed of polyols and polyisocyanates. Flame retardant groups are usually introduced to the polyol structure. In this research intermediates were obtained by esterification of 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid and trimethylolpropane for the purpose of introducing a flame retardant group to the polyol structure. Then chlorine-containing modified polyesters were synthesized by polycondensation of trimethylolpropane, adipic acid, 1,4-butanediol, and the intermediate. The content of 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid in the intermediate was varied with 10, 20, and 30 wt%. Two-component polyurethane flame retardant coatings were prepared by blending the products with polyisocyanate. Various physical properties of these new flame retardant coatings were comparable to non-flame retardant coatings. They showed drying times of four to seven hours and pot life times of 14-20 hr, which could belong to the flame retardant coatings with long pot life time. The coating with 30 wt% 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid showed a self-extinguishing property in the vertical burning test. ViscositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A series of N-alkylated aminosulfonic acids (NASAs) were synthesized with 1,4-butane sultone and primary amines and then reacted with hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer to obtain water-dispersible polyisocyanates (WDPs). Two-component waterborne polyurethane (2K-WPU) coatings were finally prepared by the reaction of WDPs and aqueous hydroxyl resins. The structures and properties of WDPs and 2K-WPU coatings were characterized. The effects of the categories and amounts of NASAs on the properties of WDPs and 2K-WPU coatings, including viscosities, water resistance and transparency, were investigated. The results showed that the average molecular weights and viscosities of the WDPs increased with the increase in the amounts and molecular weights of NASAs. 3-(Cyclohexylamino)-1-propanesulfonic acid possesses a high molecular weight, resulting in low-concentration –SO3 per mass, so a high concentration up to 3.5 wt% was needed to meet water-dispersible requirements. On the other hand, 3-isobutylamino-1-propanesulfonic acid (IBAPS) has high-concentration –SO3 per mass and only a low concentration (2.5 wt%) was required to offer satisfactory water dispersibility. 2K-WPU film cured by IBAPS-WDP displayed high gloss, good transparency and excellent water resistance owing to suitable steric hindrance and high content of –SO3H per mass.
