Efficient in relatively small quantity, they are widely used to intensifying processes of paint manufacturing (emulsifiers, dispersant, defoamers), application and to boosting coating quality, thereby enhancing coating serviceability and prolonging their life span (performance fluids, bio-preservatives, light- and heat stabilizers, adhesion promoters, gloss enhances and many others).

Combining BEPD with a small amount of other flexible ingredients gives 0T-resins for highest demands of coil coating applications. Combination of BEPD and adipic acid (AA) as flexibilising components gives OT in T-bend test at a low raw material cost. Using the combination of BEPD and 1,6-hexanediol results in 0T-flexibility with improved hardness. Because of the favourable chemical structure of BEPD it brings also improved stain resistance, chemical resistance and weather resistance. Note de contenu : - Resin synthesis

The following polymers have been used: poly(N-vinyl caprolactame) (PVCL) of various molecular masses, poly(N-vinyl formamide) (PVFA), poly(i-propyl acrylamide) (PiPAA), copolymers of vinyl caprolactame with vinyl alcohol (CVCL-VA), ethyl hydroxyethyl cellulose (EHEC), poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) of various contents of acetyl groups and molecular masses. The wetting effect was observed only in the case of poly(vinyl alcohol) samples with residual contents of acetyl groups between 10 and 20%. These samples possess high surface activity and as a result show the stabilizing effect on CuPc dispersions. The data on the optical density of the CuPc aqueous dispersions with separated solid phase show that the most effective stabilizer of CuPc dispersions is PVA with 17% of CH,COO groups and molecular weight of 10,000-11,000. The functionality of the amine is of special importance. When used properly, a highly functional amine can reduce the amount of additives required, thus lowering formulation costs, while helping the finished paint achieve optimal performance. AMP-90, (2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol) offers such advantages. A low molecular weight amino alcohol, it possesses two primary functionalities; dispersion and pH neutralization. When used to its fullest capabilities, the additive produces a system with good scrub and water resistance, maximum hiding power, color acceptance and stability at lower anionic dispersant levels than are normally required to achieve such performance. Research shows that dispersant and wetting agent demand can be reduced by 25%, and coalescing aids optimized by 10%. Further, it demonstrates greater pH stability than ammonia and sodium hydroxide, while eliminating the safety and handling issues associated with these products.
