Nanotubes de carbone à parois multiplesUn nanotube de carbone multifeuillet est constitué de plusieurs feuillets de graphènes enroulés les uns autour des autres. Il existe deux modèles pour décrire la structure des nanotubes multifeuillets :
- le modèle poupée russe: les plans de graphène sont arrangés en cylindres concentriques ;
- le modèle parchemin: un seul feuillet de graphène est enroulé sur lui-même, comme une feuille de papier.

CCFE composites were fabricated using Drum winding, Hand Lay Up (HLU) followed by Compression Moulding with (0°)4, (0°/90°/0°/90°)4, (45°)4 orientations. Mechanical Characterisation was performed on the fabricated composites as per ASTM standards. CCFE with (0°/90°/0°/90°)4 orientation exhibited better compressive strength over other composites. 0.5,1.5 weight % of Multi Walled Carbon Nano-Tubes (MWCNTs) were reinforced in to the epoxy resin using ultrasonicator. The resin mixture with 0.5, 1.5 weight % of MWCNTs was used as matrix for the fabrication of (0°/90°/0°/90°)4 composites. Tensile, Compression, Flexural, Impact, Hardness and Water absorption tests were performed to investigate the effect of MWCNTs on (0°/90°/0°/90°)4 composites. CCFE samples with MWCNTs at 0.5% exhibited 1.63%, 5.23%, 16.47%, 3.9%, 29.6% increment in tensile strength, compressive strength, ILSS, impact strength, hardness, water absorptionand 36.9% decrement in flexural strength. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : In this research paper, the effects of the combined compacting and back-injection process to produce back-injected self-reinforced composites on the mechanical properties of the self-reinforced composites (SRCs) are investigated. For this purpose, the parameters barrel temperature, time of injection and holding pressure were varied for the back injection. Tensile and bending tests were carried out on the SRCs. The results show that the mechanical properties depend to a large extent on the process parameters. The measured tensile strength varies between approx. 186 and 86 MPa, the stiffness between approx. 3500 and 2000 MPa. The flexural strength is measured between approx. 75 and 5 MPa, the flexural modulus between approx. 5480 and 650 MPa. Flexural tests are more suitable for evaluation of the consolidation, as tensile tests cannot evaluate the adhesion of the fabric layers to each other in the SRCs. Microscopic examinations show that consolidation by the back-injected melt can lead to smaller cross-sections in the SRCs compared to an area that was not back-injected. At high barrel temperatures, melting of individual fabric layers can occur, which explains, among other things, the drop in the mechanical properties of the SRCs. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : This study explores the merits of B/C fibers reinforced polypropylene to developed high mechanical performance, cost effective and light weight hybrid composite. B/C fibers reinforced polypropylene hybrid composites were prepared with different proportions. Variation in Banana, Coir and B/C fibers in hybrid composites, reveal the tensile, flexural, impact strength and water absorption. The PP and Banana, Coir fibers reinforced Composites were prepared by the twin screw extrusion of PP 80% with B-20, C-20 and B/C 15/5, 10/10 and 5/15 wt%. After extrusion, the extraction strands cut into pallets and injection molded machine make the test specimens. It was found that maximum tensile strength, the flexural strength and the impact strength at 20% of banana fiber. Tensile, flexural and impact strengths marginally have been decreased when decrease the banana fiber in the B/C fiber reinforced polypropylene hybrid composites. Also observed water absorption of same composites for 24 hrs., 48 hrs. and 72 hrs. Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and XRD (X ray diffraction) was examined.
