Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A new form of hybrid binder has been developed in which the silica particles are more homogeneously distributed than in previous technologies. The binder reduces dirt pick-up and can also improve colour retention on exposure. Leaching of soluble components, giving rise to efflorescence and 'snail trails', is also reduced. Note de contenu : - Colour lends character to façades - while it lasts
- Hybrid binder has more homogeneous silica distribution
- Exposure test shows greatly reduced dirt pick-up
- Pigment stability can be improved
- 'Snail trails' due to leaching are reduced
- NMR analysis confirms leaching is reducedEn ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mdq-00vFYskEOdPjqMUBP4DQRpImle17/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=27543

However, many contain polyethylene or polypropylene, which offer very poor paint adhesion. A process which involves flame or corona pretreatment followed by application of a waterbased solution of chemicals forming molecular brushes is shown to provide excellent adhesion. Note de contenu : - Polymer pretreatment processes outlined
- How surface-grafted molecular brushes enhance adhesion

Revêtements en bâtimentIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : This paper aims to help paint formulators understand why properly designed copolymers of acrylic-styrene are the desired choice of binders for mid to high PVC exterior paints in terms of cost-performance. An experiment is used to prove that the yellowing of the paints formulated with acrylic-styrene binders is insignificant for the human eye to notice. Along with good dirt-pick up resistance, water and efflorescence resistance gives acrylic-styrene based pains an edge over exterior paints formulated with other binder classes at PVC levels. The parameters such as water resistance, alkali, dirt pick up resistance play a major role in deriving the durability of exterior paint rather than only its UV resistance. Revêtements en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Most water-based architectural stain blocking primers typically have only moderate stain blocking performance, and they are designed to lock stains in the primer coat rather than block stains. This leads to a major performance difference compared to solvent-based primers. Since the stain is visible in the dry film when a bleeding substrate is coated with water-based primer, the painter cannot tell with any degree of certainty if the stain will migrate into the topcoat. Novel cationic water-based primers offer far superior stain blocking and are like solvent-based primers because many stains are blocked by the primer coat rather than locked into the primer coat. For these cationic primers, however, manufacturing procedures and raw materials are different from those typically used in conventional anionic architectural coatings. Revêtements intérieurs:Peinture intérieureIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : It is very important that one chooses the right quality and shade of paint for interior applications. This has a definite effect on the moods of people living in the house and visitors. Colour, shade and intensity make a lot of difference. Earlier days, only one shade used to be selected and the same shade was applied in the drawing room, bedroom, study, kitchen, children's room and bath room. Gone are those days. With the advent of modern technology in paint productioin and tinting one can generate thousands of shades ranging from light to mide colour to dark and very dark can be tinted in a jiffy to suit the customers needs. - Typical exterior painting systems
- Flat exterior : sophisticated finish, difficult to maintain
- Sheen finish exterior : shiner, more durable
