MétauxIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : As part of our automotive report, we wanted to know a little more about the perception and use of composite materials in the automotive sector in Germany, a country that is very advanced in terms of composites, with a well-established automotive know-how. Therefore, we approached Dr. Michael Effing, Chairman of the board of composites Germany, who answered our questions. Increased functionalities like integrated sensors, antennas or air-condition within the composites parts become USPs (unique selling positions)
- Fig. 2 : Multi-material systems are the key to successful designs. The combination of metals and composites with advanced joining methods via laser techniques are becoming state of the art. We need to have the right material as the right place in the car designPermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=31634

Prothèse discaleTags : 'prothèse discale' 'Matériaux du roulement' 'Pression de contact' 'Distance glissement' 'Volume d’usure' Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Wear of facet joints is a significant problem of disc replacement prostheses. We studied the wear behavior of the three models of disc prostheses in five cases, with two choices of bearing materials Metal-on-Metal (MoM) and Metal-on-Polyethylene (MoP). Our aim is to select the main factor that influences on the wear volume results of the disc prosthesis. An axial force of 2000 N combined by an angular displacement of 6° of flexion, 2° of lateral bending and 2° of axial rotation have been applied to the upper plate, the lower plate is still completely fixed. Cases that contain MoM (CoCrMo-on-CoCrMo) bearing materials produced less wear volume compared to the case with MoP (CoCrMo-on-Polyethylene) bearing materials. On the other hand the influence of two other parameters (contact area and nature of core) is low 8.71% between cases 2 and 4 (same bearing material MoP). Therefore, we can say that the three main factors influencing the wear volume are the choice of bearing materials followed by the contact area and the nature of the core (moving or fixed). The fifth case was therefore the model that produced less wear with more degrees of freedom. Note de contenu : - Geometry of disc prostheses

Résistance à l'usureIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The numerical approach for the study of wear performance of breadfruit seed shell ash particles (BFSAp) and Sodium hydroxide (OH)/silane (APS)functionalized Momordica angustisepala fiber (MAf)/epoxy hybrid composites were investigated. The MAf fibers were treated with an OH-APS solution. Hardness values, wear rate and wear mechanism of the samples were determined. A 65.82% improvement in wear resistance was obtained at the load of 30N of 30wt%MAf-20wt%BFSAp composite. The wear rate and wear damage followed in this order: epoxy(matrix)˂epoxy/30wt%MAf-20wt%BFSAp˂epoxy/OH-APS treated 30wt%MAf-20wt%BFSAp composites. The wear mechanism observed in this work is a combination of abrasive and adhesive wear. High wear resistance was obtained in epoxy/OH-APS treated 30wt%MAf-20wt%BFSAp composites.
