Revêtements en phase aqueuse -- Additifs:Peinture en phase aqueuse -- AdditifsIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : In this series of critical analysis of various additives, so far we have covered dispersants and wetting & surfactants. We now move on to the next important additive called defoamer. One might find that some repetitions of certain portions of the earlier write up, but they are further elabored here. Moreover it will help the reader for better continuity and understanding the concept better. Note de contenu : - DEFOAMING BY ADDITIVES

Fenton, Réaction de
FluidisationIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : A fluidised-bed Fenton process was utilised for the homogeneous and heterogeneous Fenton degradation of three azo dyes: CI Reactive Black 5, CI Reactive Orange 16 and CI Reactive Blue 2. The effects of the concentration of Fe2+ and hydrogen peroxide on the decolorisation and degradation of the azo dyes were examined. More than 96% of colour removal of the azo dyes was achieved using the fluidised-bed Fenton process. Chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal of the three azo dyes followed pseudo-second-order kinetics at various Fe2+ and hydrogen peroxide concentrations. COD removal of the three azo dyes increased with increasing Fe2+ concentration and was more than 85%. In addition, the COD removal efficiency of the three types of azo dyes first increased and then decreased as the hydrogen peroxide concentration increased. Presumably, the scavenging effect of hydrogen peroxide on hydroxyl radicals occurs at high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide. The most efficient COD removal was found at 160–220 mg/l hydrogen peroxide. More than 80% of the COD was eliminated at pH 3 in 20 mg/l Fe2+ and 160 mg/l hydrogen peroxide for CI Reactive Black 5, 25 mg/l Fe2+ and 160 mg/l hydrogen peroxide for CI Reactive Orange 16 and 20 mg/l Fe2+ and 160 mg/l hydrogen peroxide for CI Reactive Blue 2. Robots industriels
Structures tridimensionnelles
Système de pulvérisation (technologie)Index. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : A paint manufacturer found that its conventional manual application system was no longer an adequate aid for developing new specialist coatings. The company's newly installed compact painting robot enables it to apply coatings at a reproducible thickness in the micrometre-range. This is an essential feature of the development process for chrome-effect paint systems, for example. Note de contenu : - Industrial production replicated in the lab

Pigments
Réflectivité thermique
Revêtements en bâtiment:Peinture en bâtimentIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : With the advent of the 21st Century, many challenges and opportunities have arisen. Increased global competition has brought down the prices of speciality pigments that were once were too high for practical use in architectural coatings. Increased legislation for limiting VOCs and the growing consumer awareness of 'green' products has moved the industry toward low or no VOC products in both architectural, as well as industrial coatings. Consumers, when choosing products, are wanting it all - per-formance, quality and colour choice. Consumers want to convey their individuality and colour choice is one of the most expressive ways to accomplish that.
Although colour palettes in general, have grown smaller, since too large a selection makes it difficult to select, it is important to have a wide range of colour types to choose. With the increased competition, product differentiation has become more important. Additionally, with current dispenser technology, that has increased accuracy and more canisters commonly available, the colourant options now available allow for customisation of colourant modules. The colourants offer expansion of colour space in multiple ways: the use of speciality pigments expands the colour palette for façade systems, while maintaining durability. High performance colourants also either maintain or expand colour space, while at the same time increasing the fade resistance. High strength colourants allow for palette expansion by optimising the bases. Probably, one of the strongest statements made in the market are the high opacity colourants.Note de contenu : - Pigment application
