VinyltriéthoxysilaneIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A polyurethane/polyacrylate/silica nanocomposite was prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization using polyurethane as a seed emulsion and potassium persulphate (KPS) as a free radical initiator, in which silica was synthesized via the sol-gel method of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and was modified by vinyl triethoxy silane (A-151). The influence of synthesis conditions such as the polyurethane and Si02 content on the physical-mechanical properties and water resistance of polyurethane/polyacrylate/silica nanocomposite was investigated in detail. The tensile strength and elongation at break of nanocomposite films, at first, increases and then decreases with the increasing content of polyurethane. The incorporation of silica leads to improved tensile strength, but the elongation at break decreased. Water uptake measurements confirmed that the water resistance of polyurethane/polyacrylate/silica nanocomposite was improved by the introduction of polyurethane and silica.
The improved properties of the leather finished by polyurethane/polyacrylate/silica nanocomposite are shown, in contrast to polyacrylate finish. The water vapour permeability was increased by 7.14% and the water resistance by 30.34%.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES : Materials - Preparation of polyurethane/polyacrylate/silicate nanocomposite - Determination of physical mechanical property of composite films - The application as a leather finish

The prepared modified prepolymers were terminated using amino-polyether (Jeffamine M-2070) and maleic acid-modified polyethylene glycol “PEG 1000” to obtain dispersing agents for water-based disperse dye inkjet inks. Dispersants T1–T5 (based on TMP), dispersants G1–G5 (glycerol) and dispersants C1–C5 (castor oil) were characterized using FTIR to monitor the reaction progress. Inkjet inks made using these dispersants were characterized by particle size, dynamic surface tension, rheology profile and accelerated stability against commercial dispersant. The results revealed that glycerol and TMP-based dispersants provided optimum performance as compared to commercial standard, while castor oil-based dispersants failed the wettability and dispersion stability tests. Procédés de fabricationIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A new polyurethane-based prepreg pairs the excellent mechanics of polyurethane matrices with easy handling of prepreg. Outstanding mechanical properties, efficient and highly automated processing together with fast curing cycles - all combined into a single system.
Evonik's new polyurethane prepreg advantages are twofold : On one hand, it has very good overall properties with very high ductibility combined with superior surface properties.
On the other hand, it offers a completely new way of processing semi-finished goods. Binders are no longer needed and infusion is not required ; resulting in a shorter overall cycle time. Moreover, this PU prepreg is storage stable (for about 10 weeks at room temperature).Note de contenu : - The PU-based solution

In the last three years, global consumption of polyurethane has been growing by approx. 5 % per year. In 2012, it reached a volume of 15.3 million t. This encouraging growth trend can be expected to continue in both the middle and long term. The global factors strongly contributing to this include increasing urbanization and mobility, the economic growth driven by rising living standards, mainly in threshold countries, and last but not least, worldwide measures for saving energy.
