Note de contenu : - Determination of the new rheological parameters of a dilute suspension - General model

Titre : Solvent-free dispersion : The use of a tertiary isocyanate monomer provides a practical method for preparing dispersions without solvents Type de document : texte imprimé Année de publication : 2001 Article en page(s) : p. 27-30 Note générale : Bibliogr. Adhesives prepared from m-TMXDI tertiary isocyanates provide a lower heat activation temperature relative to other aliphatic isocyanates, and their activation temperature remains stable for at least six months. The lack of side reactions also allows the controlled incorporation of structure modifiers into the backbone polymer of the dispersion. Preliminary work suggests this may provide a technical approach to increase the range between the activation temperature and the heat resistance temperature as adhesives without the use of external crosslinking agents. First, the pearlescent-like effect resulting from its combination with aluminium pigments is examined. Goniophotometric measurements in basecoat/clearcoat systems were performed, thus quantifying the color flip-flop or travel observed when the viewing angle is changed. This coloristic effect was investigated as function of the milling time in the dispersion of a pigment mill base and also the pigment concentration. The second case is related to the ability of ultrafine titanium dioxide to absorb ultraviolet rays without considerable color deviation due to its weak tinting power. Although it has shown some potential in clear coats or wood varnishes, no improvement has been observed in one-coat enamels even for high pigment loading. Index. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Specilalty pigments are those which offer certain effects which are special such as glow, interference, brightness etc.. They are costly and consumed in less quantity. Fluorescent pigment is one type of specialty pigment. An emission of light by a luminescent pigment under excitation is fluorescent. Fluorescent pigments are bright and intense in colour and glow in day light pigment (also called daylight fluorescent). Unlike fluorescence, phosphorescent material does not immediately re-emit the radiation it absorbs. Absorbed radiation is re-emitted at a lower intensity for up to several hours after the original excitation. (e.g., glow-in-the-dark). Fluorescent pigments are classified into three categories viz. Day light fluorescent pigment, UV fluorescent pigments and IR Fluorescent Pigments. Fluorescent pigments are solid dye solutions in polar resin carriers. Fluorescent pigment manufacturing process involves dissolution of dyes in polymer matrix and pulverizing the resultant matrix into fine powder. Polymer matrix can be thermoplastic resin such as P-toluene sulphonamide (PTS amide), melamine and formaldehyde, polyamide, polyester, acrylate and can be thermoset plastics such as Ptoluene sulphonamide (PTS amide), melamine and formaldehyde and benzoqunamine formaldehyde. Fluorescent pigments are bright and attractive coloured pigments but poor light and thermal stability. Fluorescent pigments are used in plastics, paints, inks, textiles, cosmetics, and security papers. Note de contenu : - Fluorescent pigments
