Résumé : |
Pigments having higher specific surface area, needs more efforts for dispersion and generally give higher viscosity. Hence larger energy for dispersion is required. Therefore specific surface area of the pigment is an important parameter to decide the optimum mill-base pigment concentration during the dispersion process. Stabilization of dispersion of pigments having higher specific surface area needs extra care.
Quantities of the wetting agents estimated on the weight of pigment, generally do not hold good for different pigment types. This is mainly due to the fact that the different pigment grades have different specific surface area. To obtain better efficiency, wetting and dispersing agents are therefore estimated on the basis of the specific surface area. |
