vision des couleursIndex. décimale : 535.6 Couleur Résumé : In our modem society, we spend much of our time in indoor atmosphere where we are surrounded by coated surfaces. Due to their inherent nature these surfaces are not able to reflect a spectrum of Electromagnetic Energies which are vital for healthy living. Such deficiencies leads to several health issues like sick building syndrome (SBS), health disorder like migraine, dizziness, chest pain, irritation to eyes, throat and nose, vomiting, joint pain, acidity and chronic lung disease. From many research studies it can be emphasised that individuals at work in indoor environment suffer from depression, poor task performance and unhealthy relationship with other people around. Apart from other environmental factors light and colour are two important constituents which have profound effect on human health and well-being. For a paint formulator this impact of colour and light scattering ability of the coated surface on human health has become a critical consideration while formulating a coating. This paper reviews the impact of natural Electromagnetic Energies (EME) on human health and well-being and the impact of some popular shades on human behaviour. We conclude, for indoor living, the interaction of available lighting conditions and inherent nature of coatings used on the surfaces has profound impact on human well-being as it governs the available spectrum of energies. An inter-disciplinary approach in partnership with 'Lighting' industries is required to device solutions essential for human well-being. Note de contenu : - Electromagnetic spectrum

The crackle coating consisted of a waterborne basecoat and waterborne topcoat. The basecoat was made from two-component epoxy emulsion and the topcoat was made from fluorine-containing acrylic emulsion, silicone-acrylic emulsion or styrene-acrylic emulsion. Crack patterns with different spacing were prepared by controlling the thickness of topcoat, dryness of basecoat or conditions of film forming. Note de contenu : - Preparation of crackle coatings

Titre : Chemical properties of polymers Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Tipanna Melkeri, Auteur Année de publication : 2021 Article en page(s) : p. 98-100 Note générale : Bibliogr. Langues : Anglais (eng) Catégories : Polymères -- Propriétés chimiques Index. décimale : 668.9 Polymères Résumé : Chemical resistance is the ability of a polymeric material to maintain its original properties such as mechanical, electrical, optical etc. when exposed to certain chemicals. The chemical structure of the polymer and functional group present in it is responsible for chemical resistance. Polymers are used in plastics as well as paints. Chemical resistance testing on plastic automotive materials is essential to gauge how such parts withstand the influence of mostly aggressive, automotive fluids such as fuels, biofuels, cleaners, cooling liquids and lubricants, often in combination with high temperature fluctuations. Steel structure has to be protected from the corrosion atmosphere specially in chemical industry so these structures are painted. The polymer used in these paints are must be resistance towards acid, alkali, solvents and other reactive chemical reagent. It is important that these polymer must exhibits good chemical resistance. Polymer can be affected by two ways either the chemical reagent acts as a solvent or chemical reagent attacks the polymeric material. Factors affecting the chemical resistance of the polymer are time of exposure, temperature of exposure, concentration of reagent, stress present in polymer and other ingredients present in plastics or paint formulations. Note de contenu : - INTRODUCTION : The chemical reagent act as a solvent - Chemical reagent attacks the polymeric material

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.6 Peintures Résumé : Now let us turn our attention to a very important topic which is being ignored by nnost of the paint manufacturers. How long does a Paint in can actually last ? In other words what is the shelf life of an Acrylic Emulsion Paint ? Various reasons are attributed to this. Many consumers complain that when they bought a can of paint and on opening at the time of application they found it foul smel I ing, in the can. Some say that when the can was kept in an open condition or not properly covered, the paint gets spoiled or it is rendered useless and cannot be used for application. It is a very important property of a Paint in can and there could be various reasons for the Paint to get spoiled. In the foregoing few chapters we will critically examine this aspect and understand this problem and also look for suitable measures to avoid paints getting spoiled at the time of man ufacturing or post manufacturing.
