Vêtements de compressionIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Within the framework of the IGF project, the ITM has succeeded in developing and implementing innovative compression textiles made of a new type of yarn with shape memory effect (SMY), which can be put on with significantly less effort compared to commercial products. The special feature is that the integrated SMY causes the compression textile to contract only when heat is applied after donning, thus gradually building up the compression effect. This makes e.g. stockings significantly easier to put on, which will increase the acceptance of compression therapy. For the prompt transfer of the research results into industrial practice and thus into commercial products, the manufacturing technologies already established in the German textile industry were addressed. Therefore, suit-able SMY were implemented by means of melt spinning technology and the compression textiles by flat knitting technology, for which the necessary technological and product preparation know-how was provided especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Ressources renouvelablesIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : The commercially new bio-based polyamide 56 (PA56) Terryl by Cathay Industrial Biotech (Cathay Biotech) is used for the fiber and textile markets. This PA is based upon a new bio-based and renewable diamine — 115-pentanediamine (5DN) — also produced by Cathay Biotech and offers these markets significant improvements in moisture management, strength, comfort, flame-resistance and dyeability. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : With the development of innovative yarn structures and the required technologies, the ITM proved that highly oriented, homogenously blended card webs, slivers and high-performance hybrid yarns from recycled carbon fibers (rCF) can be produced for load-bearing composite components. In addition, the technical challenges and the technological lirnits of the production of high-performance yarns made from rCF could be shown. This provides the opportunity to transfer the ITM-developed process chain for hybrid yarn production at reproducible quality into industrial application. Furthermore, the research efforts allow a transfer of the findings in the next step for a requirement-adapted yarn production from pure rCF for thermosetting applications, and from other high-performance fiber materials.
