ThermogravimétrieIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A pair of isomeric aromatic heterocyclic dyes, bearing the same N-methyl pyridine-2,6-dione coupling component but a different 2- or 4-aminobenzoic acid diazo component, were characterised structurally and spectroscopically. X-ray single-crystal diffraction analyses revealed that they both adopt the same hydrazone-tautomeric form and planar molecular conformation between the pyridine and phenyl rings. Furthermore, azo–hydrazone transformation was achieved for the 2-aminobenzoic-acid-based dye after Cu(II) ion complexation, as verified by the formation of a neutral Cu(II) dye–metal complex. The coordination geometry of the central Cu(II) ion exhibits a slightly distorted pyramid with a math formula value of 0.028, where the ligand loses a proton during complexation and serves as the tridentate coordination mode. In addition, thermogravimetric analysis and corresponding differential thermal analysis for the isomeric pair showed that they both have excellent thermal stability, and 4-aminobenzoic-acid-based dye has a higher decomposition temperature (319 °C) than the 2-aminobenzoic-acid-based dye (312 °C). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first structural study on aromatic heterocyclic dyes having aminobenzoic acid and pyridine-2,6-dione components at the same time. Spectroscopie de réflectanceIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In this paper, the influence of spectral datasets and the method of selection of the corresponding feature vectors on the compression and reconstruction of data is scrutinised. To fulfil this aim, two different sets of reflectance data with the least spectral similarity are selected from different sets of spectral databases and the most optimal eigenvectors are chosen using different strategies. Six and 12 arrangements of eigenvectors obtained from different individual or combined databases are then used for the compression of reflectance spectra of learning sets, as well as those that have not been used in extraction of eigenvectors. The validity of the desired reduced subspaces is assessed by computing the spectral errors between the actual and the reconstructed spectra of samples of learning sets. Moreover, the efficiencies of designed compressed subspaces are evaluated through the numbers of out-of-range reconstructed spectra, as well as the spectral and colorimetric deviations between the actual and compressed-reconstructed reflectance spectra of samples of datasets that were not employed in learning sequence. The results show that in the restricted subspaces, i.e. six-dimensional subspace, the most effective results are achieved when the reduced subspace is created from a collection of two separate sets of eigenvectors of two different datasets with the maximum degree of dissimilarity, and the reduced spaces that have been made from six eigenvectors of individual datasets lead to higher errors. Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : New dyes – aliphatic esters of 1,6,7,12-tetrachloroperylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acid – were prepared as potential fluorescent light-stable colorants for high-visibility safety wear. The structure of the 15 perylenes was confirmed by 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, and their spectroscopic and physicochemical properties were determined. An attempt was made to apply the synthesised products as disperse dyes in the coloration of polyester as well as in the mass coloration of polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate). The light, wash, and rubbing fastness of the dyeings were determined, and chromaticity coordinates of selected samples were measured and discussed. pHIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : Acknowledging the need to develop rapid and sensitive bacterial recognition approaches, we functionalised the tricyanofuran hydrazone molecular switch. Of significant interest in relation to the synthesised hydrazones is the formation of two different conjugated structures upon exposure to different pH values. Many bacteria release ammonia gas, which alkalises environments. Herein we report the synthesis of a tricyanofuran hydrazone having the function of a colorimetric pH sensor. The UV-visible absorption and fluorescence spectra exhibit reversible colour changes of the tricyanofuran hydrazone solution in acetonitrile under acid–base conditions. Our results indicate that the tricyanofuran hydrazone probe can identify the bacterial targets quickly with high sensitivity. The infected samples exhibit a significant colour change from orange to blue and in the mean time there is a decrease in fluorescence emission as a function of ammonia and volatile amines released from bacterial metabolites. This tricyanofuran hydrazone chromophore is proposed for use in food packaging with a pH-sensing capability. CotonLe coton est une fibre végétale qui entoure les graines des cotonniers "véritables"(Gossypium sp.), un arbuste de la famille des Malvacées. Cette fibre est généralement transformée en fil qui est tissé pour fabriquer des tissus. Le coton est la plus importante des fibres naturelles produites dans le monde. Depuis le XIXe siècle, il constitue, grâce aux progrès de l'industrialisation et de l'agronomie, la première fibre textile du monde (près de la moitié de la consommation mondiale de fibres textiles).

OzonationIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Trials have been carried out to investigate the efficiency of ozone treatment in the colour stripping of reactive-dyed cotton fabrics. The trials were performed on a specially designed apparatus to inject ozone gas into the liquor passing through a perforated beam with fabric rolls on it, just like a beam dyeing machine with ozone venturi injection. Conventional reductive colour stripping was applied as the control treatment, and ozone treatment was applied for three different application times (15, 30, and 45 min). Trials were performed with seven selected reactive dyes having various chromophores and reactive groups. The results indicate that 45 min ozone treatment yielded the best colour stripping results among the three application times. Furthermore, the colour stripping percentages of the 45 min ozone treatment were higher for four of the tested dyes, the same for one of the tested dyes, and lower for two of the tested dyes compared with the control treatment, which consisted of conventional reductive colour stripping. Colour stripping of 90% and above was achieved for all samples of the 45 min ozone treatment. The chemical oxygen demand values of the colour stripping baths were compared: the average value of the 45 min ozone application baths was 105 mg l?1, and it was 1993 mg l?1 for the conventional reductive treatment baths. Consequently, a reduction in chemical oxygen demand of almost 94% was achieved by ozone treatment compared with conventional reductive treatment. The strength values of the fabrics after the respective treatments were similar, with a difference of only 3%. ThermodynamiqueIndex. décimale : 667.2 Colorants et pigments Résumé : The hypothesis that the dried, ground biomass of the red marine alga Gracilaria tenuistipitata could be used for the efficient removal of lac dye from aqueous solution was assessed in this work. The effects of parameters such as initial pH, biosorbent dosage, contact time, initial dye concentration, and temperature on the biosorption capacity of the dye were investigated. Equilibrium data were analysed using Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherm models, and the Freundlich model provided the highest coefficient of determination values. Biosorption kinetic data were successfully described with a pseudo-second-order model at initial dye concentrations of 50, 80, 100, and 120 mg l?1. The thermodynamic parameters of biosorption – enthalpy change (?H° = ?30.64 kJ mol?1), free energy change (?G° = 4.32 kJ mol?1 at 303 K to 7.78 kJ mol?1 at 333 K), and entropy change (?S° = ?115.38 J mol?1 K?1) – were determined. The negative value of the enthalpy change and positive values of the free energy change indicate that the biosorption process is exothermic and non-spontaneous. The negative value of the entropy change is consistent with decreased randomness at the solid–liquid interface with dye biosorption. Attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic analysis confirmed the presence of lac dye on the G. tenuistipitata material. The efficiency of lac dye removal by this biomass material at 20 g l?1 and with an initial dye concentration of 50 mg l?1 in acidic solution was 71%, which indicated its potential usefulness as a new dye biosorbent. In this paper, polyimide fabric was dyed successfully with disperse dyes by high-temperature and high-pressure dyeing in the presence of a swelling agent and auxiliaries. Under optimal dyeing conditions, it is pretreated with NaOH 6 g l?1 and dyed with disperse dyes 5% o.w.f., NaCl 1 m, benzyl alcohol 60 ml l?1 at 135 °C for 45 min to obtain a satisfactory colour yield with good washing fastness and dry rubbing fastness with 93.3% strength retention. The experimental results demonstrate that the Nernst adsorption isotherm is a favourable model for polyimide fabric dyeing with disperse dyes.
