SurfactantsIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The retanning process is the main application of formaldehyde in the tanning industry since formaldehyde participates in two groups of synthetic organic tanning agents: syntans and resins. Resins can be hydrolysed with the result that formaldehyde is released. Thus, formaldehyde in leather can be free or from hydrolysis of resins. Due to the carcinogenic character of formaldehyde, its presence in leather should be avoided or should be below allowable limits. The EN ISO 17226 Standard is the Official Standard for the determination of formaldehyde content in leather, which, in the authors' opinion, presents certain ambiguities in the wording of some operations included in their analysis methods and, some of these operations, are susceptible of improvement. Therefore, a revision of the EN ISO 17226 Standard (Parts 1 and 2) is carried out in this work and, in particular, of the extraction phase of formaldehyde present in leather (possible use of alternative surfactant and shaking method) ; reaction time between the extracted formaldehyde with the dinitrophenyihydrazine solution (Part 1 of the Standard) and stability of the acetylacetone solution (Part 2 of the Standard). At the same time, instead of the phosphoric acid medium used normally in the Chinese National Standard Method (GB7467-87), sulfamic acid was made into a solid mixed chromogenic agent. A standard colourimetric board was made and photographed alter the screening for chromium (VI) concentration. The standard colourimetric board and the solid mixed chromogenic reagents and other instruments were assembled into the reagent bottles as the reagent kit for rapid determination of chromium 0/1). This article examined the impact of the coexisting ions Fe3+, Mo6+, Ni2+ and Ca2+ on the chromium (VI) determination with the reagent bottles and determined the composition of the solid mixed chromogenic agent and tested the chromium (VI) optimal concentration and the upper iimit of coexisting ions permitted amount. The reagent kit was applied to the actuel wastewater and evaluated as well. Spectrométrie de masseIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A novel method using low pressure ion chromatography coupled with inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LPLC-ICP-MS) has been developed for the determination of water-soluble chromium(III) and chromium(VI) in waste water. The low pressure anion exchange column used in this system contained quaternary ammonium groups, which could separate the Cr(III) from Cr(VI). The ICP-MS was used as the detector in this coupled system to detect the concentration of chromium. The linear range of this method was 10.0ng.L-1~1.0mg•L-1 ; the detection limit of Cr(III) was 3.5ng.L-1, Cr(VI) was 9.8ng•L-1(pH=7) ; the precision of Cr(III) was 2.1%, Cr(VI) was 4.6% (n=6). Compared with National Standard Method of China reste the error was ±6%. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE : Reagents - Apparatus - Analytical procedure

Tanins végétauxIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : The high temperature emulsifying lipid complex, hydrogenated and sulfonated fatty acid methyl ester — alkyl alcohol amine (HSF-AM), was prepared. As a fatliquoring agent, HSF-AM can be emulsified and dispersed by adding HSF-AM into water above 40°C. The emulsion was stable when HSF-AM was mixed respectively with 1% 1-12SO4 and 5% plant-based tannins. The chemical oxygen demand (COD) and turbidity in the fatliquoring spent liquors alter the fatliquoring process of goatskin shoe upper leather was reduced when HSF-AM spontaneously precipitated at room temperature for the four mixtures of sulfonated rapeseed ail (SFIO) and HSF-AM. The leather samples presented excellent light fastness and low fogging values due to the high saturation degree (low iodine value), the good nanometer dispersion (120nm), and the stability of the nanoparticles emulsion. PyrazolesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A novel series of 4-amine-1-pheny1-3methyl-5-pyrazolone based metal complex azo acid dyes (1a-5d) has been prepared from p- Sulphophenyl methyl pyrazolone (1). The synthetic route included the nitrosation of the p-sulphophenyl methyl pyrazolone followed by the reduction to 4-amino-1-(p-sulphopheny1)-3-methy1-4-amino-5-pyrazolone. Diazotization of intermediate (II) and then coupling was done with Naphthol derivatives (1a-5d), in alkaline medium to produce different acid dyes. These dyes were further processed for metallization with 3d transition metals like iron ; chromium and copper. The structures of the novel dyes were confirmed by spectroscopic techniques. The synthesized dyes were applied on leather to evaluate their light fastness, wash fastness and perspiration fastness and must of the dyes were shown to possess high values (rafing 4-5). Polymérisation en émulsionIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : In this presented work, Alkali Blue 6B-attached poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) nanopolymers (nano-PHEMA-AB) were synthesized as an adsorbent for the removal of the heavy metal Cr(III) from leather wastewater. For this purpose, first PHEMA nanopolymers were prepared by surfactant free emulsion polymerization. Alkali Blue 6B was then covalently attached to the PHEMA nanopolymers. Characterization of the nano-PHEMA-ABs was carried out by elemental analysis, SEM, FT-1R and Zeta Size analysis. The specific surface area of nano-PHEMA-AB was calculated to be 1131.2m2/g. The optimum adsorption conditions (i.e. adsorption capacity, medium pH, adsorption rate) were studied and reusability of nano-PHEMA-AB was also determined. The maximum Cr(III) adsorption capacity of nana-PHEMA-AB was found to be 4755.9mg/g al pH3.8. Additionally synthesized nano-PHEMA-AB were used for the removal of Cr(III) ions from chrome tanning wastewater and Cr(III) removal capacity of the nanopolymer was found to be 2724.2mg/g at pH3.9. According to the results, dye incorporated PHEMA nanopolymers can be used as an effective, re-usable remover of Cr(III) from leather wastewater due to their large surface area and high adsorption capacity.
