Résistance thermiqueIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Polyamide - A modified polyamide 6, which is super-tough at extremely low temperatures, enables dramatic weight and appreciable cost savings to be achieved in the manufacture of high-pressure tanks for natural gas-powered vehicles. Composite-reinforced tanks with inliners produced from this material have already successfully demonstrated their performance in field trials and are shortly to be introduced in automotive production lines.

Stabilité dimensionnelleIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Major trends in the leading fields of application are driving sales of PA6 and 66 – for instance industry 4.0 in the electrical/electronics segment, or e-mobility and lightweight design in automobile manufacturing. China is able to supply itself in the meantime with both plastics as well as important preliminary products such as caprolactam. Capacities for base resins and compounds are increasingly being expanded in the country. Ongoing high prices for PA66 compounds are leading to substitution with PA6 in many applications. Note de contenu : - Market development
- Expansion in base resins
- Worldwide higher compounding capacities
- Sharp price increase for benzene
- High-performance halogen-free flame-retardant compounds
- One material for multiple performance classes
- Halogen and phosphorus-free alternative
- Efficient heat dissipation
- High temperature stable PA6 and 66
- new weldable compounds
- Extreme notched impact resistance for oil pans
- Higher temperatures in engine air management
- Thermoplastic composites in large series
- Weight reduction with hollow glass spheres
- Electromobility : market of the future

ProductionIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The worldwide market situation differs widely for PA6 and PA66. While demand and capacities for PA6 precursors and base polymers are balanced, supply shortages occur frequently for PA66, and in particular its precursor adiponitrile (ADN). This leads to partially drastic price increases. Therefore, a growing number of users is searching for PA66 alternatives. Note de contenu : - PA : Balanced capacities and demand
- PA66 : Structural supply problem and price hikes
- Globally increasing compounding capacity
- Growth market new mobility
- Contuining demand for blow-molded PA hollow parts
- Circular economy throughout the value chain
