VirusIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The body’s immune system recognizes infections with pathogens and reacts towards them in a two-phasic response. In particular, the anti-viral response has caught attention throughout the past year, in which SARS-CoV2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2) has kept the world in suspense. Training the immune system can have beneficial effects and allows for a faster reaction towards infections, and it was shown that β-glucan promotes trained immunity. CM-Glucan Forte, the water-soluble version of β-glucan combined with magnesium, was previously shown to balance the skin’s immune system, alleviating signs of atopic and stressed skin. New data indicate that CM-Glucan Forte is further able to stimulate the anti-viral defense of keratinocytes by upregulating a set of genes that support skin cells’ reaction upon infection with a virus and thereby contributing to the anti-viral defense of the skin. Produits antisolairesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : In conclusion, selected botanical oils, and especially those from ungurahui and buriti fruits, can be considered as natural ingredients in sun care formulations in order to boost the effect of the conventional sunscreen. The final
objective is to lower the dose of chemical sunscreens while still achieving the same protection, and to protect the skin from photoageing using a natural solution.Note de contenu : - Ungurahui oil

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Being located at the body-environment interface, the skin must play dual roles. The barrier function preventing uncontrolled water loss has been well characterized. It mainly resides within the outermost layer of the epidermis, the stratum corneum, the final step of the keratinocyte terminal differentiation programme.
Brasenia schreberi leaves sit at the interface of aqueous and environment-exposed worlds. This habitat is somewhat analogous to that of the skin epidermis although at a more histological level.
Barrier & Beyond is an extract from Brasenia schreberi that survived for millions of years and witnessed tectonic movements glacier formation and extreme climates. The extract containing the polyphenols gossypin and quercimeritrin has the ability to support the synthesis of the key components of the skin barrier loricrin, involucrin and filaggrin.
The Brasenia extract also demonstrate that it can support skin in its externat barrier roles. The actions of the extract succeeded ro dampen the surge in ROS upon exposure of keratinocytes to UVB and iron as well as pro-inflammatory pathways. Altogether, our results support the use of Barrier & Beyond as an active tool maintaining the global integrity of the skin barrier function.Note de contenu : - Material and methods

Produits hydratantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Yogurtene® Balance is a mix of spray dried yogurt and inulin, a vegetable fructose polysaccharide derived from chicory which has been widely used for its gut microbiome health benefits, due to its prebiotic activity. Thanks to this unique composition, Yogurtene® Balance is able to protect and rebalance the skin microflora towards one of a typically younger skin, while significantly improving skin hydration.
The active, rich in yogurt constituents and prebiotics supporting the skin friendly bacteria, was deeply studied by Givaudan Active Beauty researchers. Its performance was clinically proven in a rinse-off application (bar soap), demonstrating the impact of Yogurtene® Balance on skin microbiota composition.
i-MAPS, the first instant microbiome analysis and profiling system, is a scientific breakthrough combining microbiome research and new technology that opens the door for customers to explore the personalisation of beauty products involving the skin microbiome. Using bioinformatics, i-MAPS uses a combination of different techniques in a specific sequence to create individual profiles by mapping the skin microbiome in approximately seven hours compared to seven days for a standard analysis. Every profile provides exclusive information about the bacteria present on the microbiome and correlates it to a skin type such as oily, sensitive, or prematurely ageing.Note de contenu : - YOGURTENE BALANCE, A PERFEC MIX TO REACH SKIN BALANCE : Rejuvenating skin microflora and improving skin hydration in a rinse-off - Results towards a typically younger microbiota composition - Long-term skin hydration benefits
