The concentrated extract was partitioned with EtOAc, n-BuOH, and H2O. From the EtOAc fractions, three flavonoid compounds were isolated through the repeated SiO2 and ODS column chromatographies. The isolated compounds were identified new compound on the basis of NMR, MS, and IR spectroscopic data, respectively. In order to investigate antiatopic dermatitis potential of Nymphaea alba, we evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of Compound 1-3 from the flowers of N. alba. Compound 1-3 dose-dependently showed inhibition effects for the productions of nitric oxide (NO) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced macrophages (Compound 1: IC50 µM ; Compound 2: IC50 pM ; Compound 3: IC50 µM). And we conducted the mRNA expression related with thymus- and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC/CCL17) and macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC/CCL22) in HaCaT keratinocyte cells by Compound 1. Compound 1 inhibited the expression of nnRNA on HaCaT cells which treated with TARC/CCL17 and MDC/CCL22.

Produits antisolairesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : There was no significant difference between erythemal responses when measured according to ISO 24444 Procedure.
Similarly, there was no significant difference between erythemal responses measured instrumentally.
Moderation of erythemal response by the SPF 100 sunscreen containing high level (39%) of actives was not observed.
Evidence of anti-inflammatory activity of sunscreen actives was nto apparent when a commercial very high SPF product was tested under standard internationally-accepted test conditions intended to reflect normal use.
When a mainstream therapeutic anti-inflammatory active was incorporated into a standard SPF 15 sunscreen, there was an a value change of 0.48 at 1x MED exposure, increasing to 1.1 at 2x MEDs. The impact of this effect on SPF 16 protected skin was at best incremental, and extrapolation from the percentage decrease in erythema could only, at best, be additive.
The changes could not be observed visually when assessed according to the ISO 24444 SPF protocol, but could only be shown with instrumental measurement with a colour computing spectrophotometer. Significant difference could not be confirmed for any of the test series for treated vs. untreated challenges.Note de contenu : - Determination of anti-inflammatory effect of commercial SPF 100 product

Peau -- Soins et hygièneIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Pollution is an external stressor that can lead to premature ageing for skin and hair, and consumers looking for preventative skin and hair care products are boosting the demand for anti-pollution ingredients. Stepan Personal Care initiated laboratory testing for its two novel skin and hair conditioning esterquats to see if they could provide anti-pollution properties. Test results showed Stepanquat® Helia and Stepanquat Soleil can build a film on the skin and hair that then protected them against the adhesion of polluting microparticles. In addition to this protective film, both conditioning agents provide excellent hair conditioning performance and sensorial benefits for skin, improving spreadability and imparting a velvety skin feel. Formulators would be able to leverage all of these properties to create multi-tasking hair and skin care products with anti-pollution benefits.
