Résumé : |
As automakers scramble to meet tough new emissions and fuel economy standards globally without sacrificing safety, cost, aesthetics, and performance, interest in composite materials and processes is at an all-time high. Fortunately, there are many ways that composites can help automakers meet their goals. A consortium of companies decided to investigate new options to improve the mechanical performance vs. weight and cost for direct-long-fiber thermoplastic (D-LFT) composites combined with semifinished fabrics and laminates made with unidirectional glass tapes. Results of the study are described here. |
