Résumé : |
The effect of acrylic polyol on properties of emulsion cast films of polyurethane (PU) ionomers has been examined. Isocyanate terminated prepolymers prepared primarily from isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and polyoxy propylene glycol (PPG) of MW 1000 were chain extended with trimethylol propane (TMP) and dimethylol propionic acid (DMPA) as potential ionic centers. The urethane forming reaction was carried out in N-methyl-2-pyrollidone (NMP) using dibutyl tin dilaurate (DBTDL) as catalyst. The effects of DMPA and acrylic polyol (AP) on the particle size and its distribution have been studied by automizer. The mechanical properties of the emulsion cast films were determined using Universal tensile tester (Instron). Thermal properties have been studied by using TGA and DSC. It has been observed that the particle size decreased with increase of DMPA content and increased with AP content. Tensile strength decreased, but elongation at break increased with the increase of DMPA content, whereas tensile strength increased and elongation at break decreased with the increase of AP content. |
