Often, after mixing, it is difficult to extract ingredients from the polymer base due to their interactions with other ingredients such as carbon black.
Analysis of extracted ingredients may give erroneous results due to contamination by other ingredients from the compound. The carbon black components in the blend often interfere with spectral analysis methods because carbon black tends to absorb spectural frequencies, such as infrared.
Testing of bonded rubber-to-metal parts amplifies the problems two-fold. The bonding adhesive is also a multi-component polymeric blend, much like the rubber. Also involved are contaminants associated with the substrate. For example, a stamped steel insert may be contaminated with hydrocarbons. If the metal is porous, oil may bleed out of the metal grain over time and undermine a bond system. Or, if the oil is present initially, it may prevent adhesive wet-out, thus inhibiting adhesion to the substrate.Note de contenu : - Traditional analysis is lacking

ViscositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Synthesis of a non-film forming product for wood protection based on silylated linseed oil with the objective of obtaining an innovative oil-based product for superficial wood treatment with a permanent hydrophobic effect is described. Product containing different molar ratios of oil and silane were synthesised and characterised. The goals were to monitor the silylation process with the use of VTMOS and to evaluate some of the physico-chemical properties of the polymers obtained. The structures of the new polymers were determined by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and selected physico-chemical properties (eg. iodine value, viscosity) were also determined. The results show that the modified oil is storagestable and its basic functional properties in a liquid state are comparable with reference products. Physical porperty data indicates that the resultant bio-based polymers are suitable for wood treatment as non-film forming products. Note de contenu : - Materials

This work demonstrates the possibility of quantitative determination of aroma molecules in carrier salts (flavored salts for bath-wellness and as components of detergent compositions) based on the surface activity of aroma molecules. The aqueous solutions of three differently coloured carrier salts with different loaded fragrance composition have been studied using dynamic tensiometry (maximum bubble pressure). The fraction of the carrier (coarse/fine) and the amount of the dissolved flavoured salts have been varied. Also, the effect of the artificial aging on the amount of the loaded aroma molecules has been revealed. The demonstrated approach can be used for the optimizations of compositions and of the manufacturing
processes of fragrances-containing products, as well as for the assessment of the release/evaporation of fragrances from
the products.
Further development of the proposed approach will make it possible to evaluate the molecular interactions of aroma substances with other components of detergents and of cosmetic formulations, such as surfactants, polymers, salts and pigments.Note de contenu : - Table 1 : Physicochemical properties of studied aroma molecules En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q9GTXkZ0ijV_zu5Zw6SoDgFbcEMb--bZ/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34226

Chrome hexavalent
Chrome trivalent -- Oxydation
Liqueurs de tannageIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : Since the entry into force of the EU Commission Regulation regarding hexavalent chromium in leather articles in 2014, it is of paramount importance to follow good manufacturing practices to ensure the production of leather not only free of Cr(VI) but with no tendency to its formation. The equilibrium between Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in leather can be disturbed under stressful environmental conditions such as light or heat exposure. These factors could trigger the lipid peroxidation of unprotected unsaturated fatliquoring agents, thus leading to the oxidation of Cr(III) to Cr(VI). Due to the relevance that the oxidation of the fatliquoring agents has in the subsequent Cr(VI) formation, the Propensity Test has been developed and verified as an innovative verifying in-house tool for tanners to verify that each of the fatliquoring agents used in the tannery processes are properly protected against oxidation and thus, that Cr(VI) formation is not triggered. The method has four simple steps and can be easily carried out in the tanneries’ pilot plant. It does not require special equipment or specific apparatus because all the necessary instruments are usually available in any tannery and the skills needed to perform the test are the same that leather technicians use in their day-to-day work, so the implementation cost is practically non-existent.This work leads to the conclusion that there is a higher possibility of Cr(VI) formation among sheep skins rather than among calf hides. The rechroming process also presents risks regarding Cr(VI) content in leather, however, in this study it has been shown that rechroming does not increase Cr(VI) formation risks when the fatliquoring agents are properly protected against autoxidation. Therefore, using a well-protected fatliquoring agent is mandatory for the purpose of producing Cr(VI)-free leather despite the type of leather.
