In this work, to improve the film characteristics, we impose ultrasonic vibration on the substrate, and therefore the wet coating, during the rod-coating preparation process of the GCFs, and study the effect of vibration power. The 5 x 5 cm2 thin films prepared on flexible polyethylene terephthalate with ultrasonic vibration imposed on the substrate of wet films demonstrate improved conductivity and reduced thickness. Ninefold enhancement in charge carrier concentration is observed when ultrasonic vibration is applied. The improved performance is ascribed to the eliminated pores in films, and rearrangement of graphene in the polymer network, brought about by nanometer-scale-amplitude ultrasonic vibrations. The electrical property of flexible films is demonstrated to be stable after multiple cycles of bending. Note de contenu : - Film preparation

The PN/G-WPU was synthesized by covalently embedding phosphoramidate-based diol into polyurethane chain, followed by emulsification with graphene oxide (GO) aqueous solution and in-situ reduced with hydrazine hydrate. The structure and emulsion stability of prepared PN/G-WPU were characterized, and the physical mechanical properties as well as the flammability of resulting leathers were investigated. The results indicate the good dispersion and strong interfacial interaction of graphene with polyurethane matrix, which facilitates the PN/G-WPU penetrating into leather fibers. The PN/G-WPU retanning agent can effectively improve the comprehensive performance of resultant leather such as hydrothermal stability, physical-mechanical properties, flame retardancy and smoke suppression performance. Accordingly, our method might provide an alternative strategy for manufacturing high-performance leather.

Due to their promising application in the field of structural components, the presence of a piezoresistive affect is a very useful property for such materials because it allows the real time self-monitoring of civil infrastructures. As observed for cement-based materials, the use of a conductive filler can enhance the piezoresistive response by avoiding measuring issues related to the electrical polarization. In this work we present preliminary results about the piezoresistive characterization of a metakaolin based geopolymeric mortar filled with graphene nanoplatelets.

Terpolymère acrylonitrile butadiène styrèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : This work reports the preparation and characterization of poly(lactic) acid/acrylonitrile butadiene styrene/graphene nanoplatelets/Cloisite C20A montmorillonite (PLA/ABS/GnP/C20A) nanocomposites via melt blending. The clay is hybridized with graphene to increase its dispersion in the polymer matrix. The melt processing temperatures play a vital role in the properties of the resulting nanocomposites in dictating the extent of thermal stability and dispersion of the fillers. The hybrid nanocomposites were characterized for stress-strain, thermal, chemical, and morphological properties. The findings were that there was an increase in the mechanical properties in terms of tensile strength and Young's modulus with the PLA/ABS/GnP/C20A at the high-temperature profile having the highest values of 43.1 MPa and 2533 MPa. The elongation at break increases slightly, due to the brittle properties of GnP. It was found that the dispersion of the fillers increased with increasing temperature profiles, as revealed by the morphological analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The void size was also observed to be smaller and more homogenous with increasing temperature. However, in terms of thermal degradation analysis, the addition of fillers increases its thermal stability as the decomposition onset temperature increases by 22.5°C.
