Sensitive skin is a self-diagnosed condition that many consumers consider themselves to have. A study performed in UK on 3,800 subjects found that 51.4% of women and 38.2% of men self-reported their skin as being sensitive. To delve a little further into these results, 10% of women and 5.8% of men described themselves as having very sensitive skin.
When talking to brands and consumers, it seems clear that increasing numbers of individuels daim to have sensitive skin and as a result there is a growing need to adequately address this within personal care formulations.
The aim of this article is to explore some of the considerations when formulating for sensitive skins and how to approach them. |
