Langues : Anglais (eng) Tags : 'Interaction particule' 'Particule en suspension' Encre Stabilisation 'Dispersion aqueuse' Pigment 'Peinture eau' 'Matériau revêtement' Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Concentrated pigment dispersions are commonly used as precursors in the manufacture of aqueous inks and paints. These pigment dispersions are prepared by the reduction of the particle size of the pigment through mechanical grinding followed by the stabilisation of the pigment particle in the aqueous media. This stabilisation is frequently accomplished using low molecular weight acrylic resins. The actual performance of the resulting pigment dispersions, as described by the intensity of the colour development, stability and compatibility, is a strong function of the chemical composition and structure of the acrylic resin stabiliser. This paper describes how the performance of these dispersions can be explained in terms of the chemistry of the resin-stabilised pigment dispersions. Particle-particle interactions described by DL VO theory and the physical chemistry characterisation of the stabilised dispersions will provide insight into the workings of these chemical systems.
