Volumétrie (chimie analytique)Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The direct two-phase titration method with use of solvatochromic dye, i.e. 5-(3-bromo-4-hydroxy-5-methoxyphenyl)-7,7-dimethyl-7H-indolo[1,2-a]quinolinium perchlorate (1) for cationic surfactants determination is presented which is the modification of an earlier described procedure for anionic surface active substances detection. The method was tested on standard solution of benzethonium chloride (cationic detergent) which enables to estimate its accuracy as well as on few commercially available products to verify its utility. The influence of pH value of the probe on the titration endpoint determination was discussed and a simple solution of this problem has been proposed. The new criterion is based on the determination of the mineralisation of the surfactant, ultimate biodegradability. There are a series of official biodegradation tests allowed in the new Regulation as well as a reference test based on the ISO 14593 method. There are few data in the literature about the biodegradation results of common surfactants using the above methodology and consequently the aim of our study was to apply it to a variety of commercial LAS products. Both the influence of the counter-ion and initial concentration of LAS have been assessed. The results confirm that LAS complies with the ultimate biodegradation requirements fixed on the new EU Detergent Regulation.

UltrasonsIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : In recent years, the textile industry must go towards developing of new technologies to reduce the energy and water consumption. The use of ultrasound in textile wet processing is one way for this purpose. The aim of this work was to investigate the effects of ultrasonic energy on processing of cotton with nonionic softener. For this purpose, cotton fabric was treated with a nonionic fatty acid amide derivative softener in an ultrasonic bath. The physical properties of the fabrics treated with softener were compared with that treated in a conventional bath. As the results show, the treatment of fabrics with softeners in an ultrasound bath is more effective compared to a conventional method and it enhances the physical properties of cotton. SéchageIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : During the annually arranged Action Day Sustainable Washing on May 10th, 5284 questionnaires about laundry treatment were collected from private people in Germany with the aim of obtaining information about consumer behaviour and attitudes towards sustainability. This is a non-representative census as only 15% of all respondents were male. Nevertheless, relative distribution and correlation provide a relevant insight into consumers’ behaviour towards washing, drying and ironing. The most important results of the analysis can be summed up as follows: – Nearly 50% of the respondents own a laundry-dryer. – Nearly one third of all respondents never use fabric softeners. The prevention of ecological damage was the reason for not using fabric softeners for 30% of the respondents. – About one fourth of all respondents always use fabric softeners, with younger people having a significantly higher attitude towards using them. – Under good weather conditions, about 90% of the respondents choose energy-saving alternatives to dry their laundry. – The average weekly time spent on ironing is about two hours on average of all respondents who gave information. The analysis shows that laundry treatment beyond the pure washing process is a multi-faceted process with several starting points of improvement in favour of sustainable handling. ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Colloido-chemical behavior of copper (II) stearate and N-donor ligands in benzene-methanol mixture of varying composition has been investigated by viscometric measurements. The critical micelle concentration values depend upon the composition of solvent mixture and are to be found in close agreement with each other. The general trend observed is that the viscometric parameters with concentration are quite different and the plots are obtained with curvature at a definite concentration corresponding to critical micelle concentration at which there is marked change in the aggregation of the complex molecules. The results of phenylthiourea and benzothiazole complexes in regards to solute-solvent and solute-solute interactions in mixed solvent systems have been discussed in terms of the equations proposed by Moulik and Jones-Dole. The complexes were synthesized with N-donor ligands and copper (II) stearate and characterized by their elemental analysis, molecular weight, melting point, IR and NMR spectral studies. Due to the surface-active properties of copper stearate, the complexes show remarkable applications in industries and are used as emulsifiers, dispersing agents, foaming and wetting agents. N-donor ability of ligands make them useful as intermediates for many organic compounds such as colorants, agrochemical and pharmaceutical. They are good antiviral, antibacterial and antimalerial agents. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3717
