The leaves and bark that are by products of the responsibly farmed eucalyptus used in the manufacture of lyocell fibres were extracted with water to provide a source of natural colour. Lyocell fabric, which required minimal preparation, was screen printed with an aqueous paste containing only the extracted colour and a natural thickener to provide attractive golden-yellow prints. The printed fabrics demonstrated surprisingly good fastness towards light, washing and rubbing. A mordanting pretreatment of the lyocell with alum modified the colour of the naturally coloured prints to become stronger and duller, but provided no advantage in terms of technical performance. The outcome presents a potentially useful model for the development of sustainably coloured fashion textile products. Note de contenu : - Material

HMD with benzothiazole moiety showed a large bathochromic shift (153 nm) and a definite colour change for Cu2+. HMD could detect Cu2+ down to 0.47 μmol/L in the solution phase and could clearly distinguish it from other metal ions, even in the test strip. The binding mode between HMD and Cu2+ was determined to be 1:1 using Job plot and electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry. The sensing mechanism of HMD for Cu2+ was illustrated as the combination of metal-to-ligand charge transfer and intramolecular charge transfer via theoretical calculation. Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : This paper presents an efficient approach to solid-colour and multicolour region segmentation in real yarn-dyed fabric images. The approach is based on a novel model describing the spectral response of a multispectral imaging system to yarn-dyed fabrics. The model indicates that solid-colour regions cannot be distinguished from multicolour regions in terms of reflectance, tristimulus, or CIELAB values owing to a geometric term representing the influence of fabric surface condition on measured colours. The geometric term makes it difficult to determine the segmentation thresholds of CIEXYZ and CIELAB colour histograms. However, solid-colour and multicolour regions can be detected in CIExyY space because chromaticity coordinates are impervious to the geometric term. The CIExyY histograms of a solid-colour region accord with one Gaussian distribution, but those of a multicolour region accord with a combination of two Gaussian distributions. The CIEXYZ, CIELAB, and CIExyY colour distributions of both solid-colour and multicolour yarn-dyed fabrics were analysed in detail in simulation and real experiments. Experimental results show that solid-colour yarn-dyed regions can be distinguished from multicolour yarn-dyed fabric regions by the shapes of CIExyY histograms, but cannot be distinguished by the shapes of CIEXYZ or CIELAB histograms.

Index. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A gelatin–copper complex was prepared and then added as catalyst to a hydrogen peroxide bleaching bath. Cotton fabric was bleached with the new system at low temperature (70 °C). The effects of the gelatin–copper complex on the whiteness, capillary effect, damage, and bleaching rate of the bleached fabric and on the decomposition ratio of hydrogen peroxide were evaluated. These effects were compared with the effectiveness of traditional high-temperature bleaching and low-temperature bleaching without the gelatin–copper complex. The results showed that the gelatin–copper complex enhances the bleaching effectiveness of hydrogen peroxide. The whiteness of cotton fabric bleached with the catalytic complex is comparable with the whiteness achieved with a conventional peroxide system. The catalytic bleaching technology not only realises low-temperature and low-alkali bleaching of cotton with hydrogen peroxide but also reduces fabric strength loss, which meets the requirements of industry for continued development of the wet processing of textiles. Titre : An evaluation of the properties of denim dyed with sulphur dyeing by elimination of pre-treatment processes Type de document : texte imprimé Année de publication : 2022 Article en page(s) : p. 485-494 Note générale : Bibliogr.

Textiles et tissus -- LavageIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : In recent years, the low-environmental impact technology has given rise to new types of treatment in the textile industry. From the environmental point of view, mainly the textile dyeing process constitutes a significant pollution problem due to the variety and complexity of chemicals employed. Denim has been identified with indigo dyestuff throughout history. However, the percentage of warp yarn woven with sulphur-dyed denim (included in the denim group of products) has increased in recent years. The justification of this study is to create a new concept in denim fabric dyeing. Conventional denim fabric properties have been tried to be obtained with less process. A novel method with a less environmentally detrimental technique that limits the use of water, chemicals, and other resources has been developed to achieve traditional denim fabric qualities. The colour changes, tensile-tear strength, skew movement, dimensional stability, and the rubbing fastness values of fabrics dyed using these methods were examined comparatively. According to the results, the properties of fabric treated with the developed dyeing method, are very similar to those of the standard dyed fabrics. The tensile and tear strength values of the fabrics dyed using the reduced process method increased. The dimensional change and movement values of the fabric dyed with the new technique are higher. Fabric dyed with the conventional method has the highest K/S value but the lowest L* value. The greatest ΔE value was seen in fabrics with stone+hypo washing. The rubbing fastness value of the fabric dyed with the reduced process method was better. Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS
