Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 677.47 Non cellulosiques : Nylon, acryliques, polyesters, vinyles Résumé : The stress relaxation characteristic of PET filament yarn was studied. The partially oriented polyester filament yarn (PET POY) was subjected to draw ratios viz. 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 and then was heat set at temperatures 140, 160 and 180°C. It was observed that the relaxation values were reduced with increase in draw ratios. It was also observed that the relaxation values were decreased with increase in heat setting temperature. The spring constants and relaxation constants were calculated by assuming 3 element Zener model. The calculated values of spring constants were found to increase with increase in draw ratio. The relaxation constants were found to vary from 1.99-5.38 seconds for all the cases. The lovv values of relaxation constants indicate that for all cases the amorphous regions are more mobile which leads to speedy rearrangement of molecules. Note de contenu : - Material

UltrasonsIndex. décimale : 675.2 Préparation du cuir naturel. Tannage Résumé : This study concerns the implementation and improvement of a new system that applies ultrasound technology in vegetable tanning, which is an eco-friendly tanning process. The system is versatile and requires no major modifications or expenses for tanneries. In particular, the study investigates the influence of several variables in the fixation stage of a vegetable tannage after penetration under ultrasound. The results show significant differences in the tanning degree of the leathers tested in relation to the pH of the fixation float and the amount of time that the hides remain in it. It has been demonstrated that this tanning system allows to obtain leathers with a high degree of tannin fixation. The leathers we obtained showed no scratches, which are the main cause for their devaluation when applying the traditional tanning system and were suitable for commercialization as high-end leather goods. Ultrasound technology can increase the use of vegetable tannage versus other less eco-friendly types of tannage. Note de contenu : - Materials and chemicals

However, it is heavier than materials such as various fibres and synthetic leather, which makes it unsuitable for modern applications that prioritise lightness, portability and fuel efficiency. In addition, animal skins used as raw materials are structured with collagen protein, which limits the ability to ability to reduce the weight by altering the thickness and chemicals used in its preparation. In this study, we investigated the penetration, fixation, and foaming methods of thermally expandable microcapsules (TEM) in leather manufacturing procedures to reduce the weight of natural leather. Dyeing and fatliquoring were suitable processes for applying TEM to leather, and the combined use of acryl polymers enabled TEM to attach efficiently to the leather tissue. The manufacture of foamed leather under conditions of 20% TEM and 3% fixing agent resulted in an increase in the thickness by >20% and enabled the production of foamed leather with excellent physical properties. Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A new kind of hetero-bifunctional reactive dye containing 2-ethoxy-4-chloro-s-triazine, with better activity matching with β-hydroxyethyl sulphone sulphate at a low fixation temperature, was successfully synthesised and characterised. An ethoxy group was designed to be introduced into triazine to increase the substantivity and the reactivity of the dyes. Thereby, the fixation of mono-s-chlorotriazine/hydroxyethyl sulphone sulphate (KM-type) bifunctional reactive dyes on cotton was improved, and dyeing under mild conditions with high fixation was realised. Nineteen dyes with orange, red and blue colours were synthesised and characterised by UV-Vis and infrared spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Synthesised dyes were dyed at 60, 75 and 90°C, respectively. Exhaustion and reactivity for all of the ethoxy-containing KM-type dyes was over 90% at the optimal temperature, and fixation was over 87%, which was higher than the ethoxy-free comparative dyes. The optimal fixation temperature of ethoxy-containing dyes was initially reduced to 75°C, and then to 60°C. Compared with comparative dyes, the wash fastness and light fastness were basically unchanged, and the wet rub fastness of the H-acid series was reduced by one grade.

Each polyvinylamine dye was fixed to cotton without a crosslinking agent through covalent bonds formed between the reactive group of the dye and the cotton fibres. A fixation of 99% was achieved, with grades of 4 and 4‐5 wash and dry‐rub fastness, respectively.
