Transparence (optique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Transparent polymers are necessary in medical technology for many reasons. Materials taken into consideration however, often do not achieve the required mechanical properties, chemical resistance or provide the desired transparency. Transparent polyamides meet all these requirements. Special grades can even be steam sterilized more than 500 times. Note de contenu : - PA12/macmi – the all-rounder
- PA MACM12 : an unbreakable PA
- The first transparent PA for steam sterilization
- Reducing energy costs in processing

Technologie médicaleIndex. décimale : 677.53 Fibres métalliques Résumé : BinNova Metal Fiber Technology GmbH, a subsidiary of the producer of specialty filter materials BinNova GmbH & Co. KG, Frankenberg/Germany, has licensed a technology from the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Medical Research, Heidelberg/Germany, which makes it possible to produce micro-metal fibers that are extremely fine and, at the same time, extremely robust. Following the successful development of the research concept and a research facility by the MPI for Medical Research, the company will now begin developing a production facility and will very soon commence distribution of the innovative metal fibers and nonwovens. Technique de la production
Technologie médicaleIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A traditional, family-run company with locations around the world and a high degree of in-house production, which developed within the medical technology sector from modest beginnings - these attributes characterize the globally renowned company B. Braun. The cleanroom production of, e. g., infusion sets and filter inserts often requires special injection molding solutions. Note de contenu : - The logical consequence is decentralized market support
- Tight overmolding of infusion containers
- Overmolding of cage geometries and molding connectors onto tubes
- Innovative strength spreads by word of mouth
- FIGURES : 1. The drip chambers are conveyed through a buffer station during assembly on the green workpiece carriers - 2.The drip chambers of the infusion sets are fully automatically overmolded with the characteristic green rings. In a downstream step, the finished drip chambers are connected to the infusion tubes and packaged - 3. For special solutions such as the manufacture of tubes for infusion therapy, Arburg has integrated the injection technology at B. Braun into the mnaufacturing cell - 4. Technologie médicaleIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : The increasing miniaturization of electronics, in combination with the higher demand for embedded wireless connectivity features, creates challenges regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) via electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS) and generated electromagnetic interference (EMI). Thermoplastic compounds with integrated electrical conductivity offer a potential solution to resolve EMI, EMS and electrostatic discharge challenges. These thermoplastic materials can deliver the appropriate level of electromagnetic shielding for electronics, while providing freedom to design complex geometries and opportunities to streamline processing by avoiding secondary operations. Note de contenu : - Complex problem definition
- Faraday cage for sensitive components
- Light-weighting alternatives to aluminum
- Inherent EMI shielding
- Adequate injection molding technology
