Fibres polyesters
ProductionIndex. décimale : 677.47 Non cellulosiques : Nylon, acryliques, polyesters, vinyles Résumé : The polyester chain had a challenging year in 2019. It had to come to terms with over-capacity of varying degrees throughout the chain. Additionally, prices spiralled due to weakening upstream costs, while margins -or lack of - became squeezed.
The global economic landscape further tested the limits of market players already facing a difficult year. Nevertheless, what was remarkable was the resilience of the chain - particularly the polyester sector. Not only did polyester production not tumble, China led the world of polyesters to put in a credible show in downstream markets. This provided a silver lining amid dark clouds and gave hope that 2020 might not be as bad as previously feared.Note de contenu : - Overcapacity throughout the supply chain
- Overcapacity in PTA sector more subdued than PX
- MEG overcapacity seems most serious
- PTH physical markets also tightened in 2019
- Headwinds still plague polyester chain, but growth continues

Temps de cycle (production)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : FRP production - Fiber-reinforced plastics are spreading into more and more application areas. Having conquered the aerospace industry, they are set to repeat that success in automotive mass production. A key challenge here is the building up of automated process chains that have short cycle times. Note de contenu : - Starting materials

Polyamide 66

ProductionIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Maintenance and adequate machine settings have wide impact on the properties of the resultant yarn. Many times it was studied that the machine production and the quality of fully drawn yarn (FDY) have been totally de-pendent on the machine settings like draw ratio and winding speed. High¬speed spinning of PA 66 yarn at speeds greater than 5,200 m/min pro¬duces highly oriented and crystalline yarn which may be categorized as FDY and those filaments were spun at a speed of 4,000 m/min can categorized under partially oriented yarn (POY) which is highly suitable as a feed ma¬terial for draw-texturing machines. This research mainly aimed to study the machine setting on the production of FDY machine. Note de contenu : - Materials and methods : Polymerization
