Tests d'efficacitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Symrise shares results from a study showing how formulations claiming long lasting deodorant efficacy can benefit from the excellent performance of modern deodorising ingredients like 2-methyl 5-cyclohexylpentanol, without using strong antimicrobials
Human perspiration has two essential functions. Eccrine sweat dissipates heat generated from physical activity, fever or elevated environmental temperatures, thereby preventing heatstroke. Apocrine sweat, on the other hand, is the source of emotional sweating, thus serving as a medium for interpersonal communication.
Regardless of its source, fresh sweat does not smell. Eccrine sweat does not contain any compounds that can lead to odour by itself, as it is mainly composed of water, electrolytes, moisturising factors and free amino acids.
Apocrine sweat, on the other hand, contains complex molecules like sebaceous or apocrine lipids, fatty acids, proteins, and various glutamine- and cysteine conjugates, as well as pheromones. The human underarm microbiota flourishes by degrading this nutrient-rich mixture, releasing the smaller end-products. These are often small enough to be volatile and thus are perceivable for the surroundings, leading to the typical odour.Note de contenu : - Clinical studies on efficacy

Vernis en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Effective corrosion protection generally requires two or more coats of paint, each with different properties. The development of a waterborne binder system which protects metal with only a single coat is described. The optimised binder system incorporated electronegative functional monomers to improve adhesion and was self-crosslinking. Both clear varnishes and white paint without anticorrosive pigment gave good results over a variety of metallic substrates. Note de contenu : - The quest for waterborne performance

Tests d'efficacitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : We have developed a sunscreen formulation that not only benefits consumers but also the environment. This high SPF index, mineral-based formulation was developed using a process with no heat.
Today’s formulators are faced with the challenge of creating sunscreen products that are safer for the environment while maintaining affective protection for consumers. To meet this challenge, formulators have developed sunscreen products with broad-spectrum SPF that provide various levels of protection. However, most sunscreen products are formulated using a process that requires heat (energy). SNF has developed a sunscreen formulation that not only benefits consumers but also the environment. This high SPF index, mineral-based formulation was developed using a process with no heat; therefore, helping to reduce the carbon footprint.Note de contenu : - Types of UV filters

Tests d'efficacitéIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : As the cosmetics and personal care market continues to grow, consumers have an increased number of product ranges to choose from. While packaging and overall appearance of the product as well as its scent and feel all affect the purchase decision, much more convincing is tangible and reliable proof of the product's efficiency. How much more hydrated will the skin be when using a moisturiser ? How much shinier will hair be while using a conditioner ? Does the use of a skin care product decrease skin oiliness ?
In addition to consumer expectations, personal care suppliers must also take into account regulatory framework that regulators in most regions have implemented. The manufacturer must be able to show that a cosmetic product delivers a given promise. Objective information on the efficacy of products can obtained by creating simple in-house protocols for product testing and incorporating fast and practical measurement instruments into the protocols. These instruments provide reliable results for example on the changes happening in the skin during product trials and studies.Note de contenu : - Benefits of in-house testing
