On the back of extensive immuno-modulatory, antiinflammatory, digestive health and anti-cancer research, fucoidan is increasingly being utilised in a range of dietary supplements. In recent years, mounting anti-ageing evidence has also placed this novel marine ingredient on the radar of skin care formulators.
High purity, certified organic fucoidan ingredients with global regulatory acceptance are rapidly rising to the forefront of the blue beauty movement. Not only do they tick all the right boxes in terms of sustainability and ethical sourcing but also in terms of efficacy and ease of formulation. The potential benefits of fucoidan on skin health are increasingly being reported in scientific literature and are capturing the attention of some the world’s leading skin care brands.
Fucoidan’s role in nature is to protect the seaweed against a range of external stresses, including environmental pathogens. Australian biotechnology company Marinova was the first to capture these natural benefits for topical use, launching two high purity fucoidan extracts onto the global skin care market over a decade ago. Backed by clinical evidence, Maritech® Bright, derived from Fucus vesiculosus seaweed, and Maritech Reverse, derived from Undaria pinnatifida seaweed, both offer profound antiageing properties.Note de contenu : - A brightening, anti-ageing & antioxidant combination

Protection cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The daily exposure to DNA-damaging agents leads to errors that accumulate year by year as the natural repair mechanisms become less active when ageing. Among the agents that help to delete these undesired changes, FOX03a is highlighted as an essential transcriptional factor that regulates the expression of genes implied in the repair and removal of genetic errors, depending on the severity. FOX03a is then vital to maintain genetic integrity.
Acetyl hexapeptide-51 amide is an innovative peptide that stimulates the same natural DNA-repair pathways as FOX03a, being able to activate the FOX03a responsive elements by 1.9 times and raise the DNA-repair pathways by 2.7 times. Besides, it protects from UV radiation and pollution, in vitro increasing cellular viability and decreasing the induced damage, and in vivo reducing UV-induced damage by 16.6%, at 2% peptide solution. Additionally, it also proved to in vitro diminish the number of senescent cells by 64.6%, which means 11 years of cellular rejuvenation.
Thus, Juvefoxo peptide acts as a guardian of genetic integrity that helps to repair or remove genetic errors that can result in a skin worsening even at a macroscopic level. This hexapeptide rejuvenates and improves skin aspect, enhancing natural repairing mechanisms and raising protection from daily damaging agents.Note de contenu : - NATURAL DNA REPAIRING MECHANISMS

Protection cutanéeIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : The author explains how it has harnessed an osmolyte-rich extract to create a bioactive ingredient that reduces the impact of photoageing and restores the skin’s natural well-ageing
Marine life extends beyond the ocean waters to the rocky coastline. A living marine micro-ecosystem develops on this hard substrate: the epilithic holobiont. This supra-organism composed of phytoplankton and its microbiota is a source of natural organic moisturisers. By applying Phycosphere Biodynamic® Technology we biomimic the extreme environment where this holobiont lives. The organic osmolyte-rich extract is extracted to create Osmocean Phycoskin®, an original moisturising and dermoprotective bioactive ingredient reduces the impact of photoageing and restores the skin's natural well-ageing.Note de contenu : - Regulators mechanism on skin water homeostasis
