Results from CARAC TP will be applied to a broad range of uses at high temperature (up to a constant one 170°C), and to better control forming processes. This project was conducted in partnership with specialised composite materials laboratories. The results were partly presented at the 2022 SAMPE France event. Structures tridimensionnellesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Thermoplastic injection molded parts can be reinforced with local continuous fibers in combination with metallic load application elements. This also makes them suitable for structural applications such as transverse control arms and transmission mountings. A 3D winding technology was tested for potential use in a large-scale production process. Note de contenu : - The 3D skeleton winding process

The Twin-O-Sheet process integrates three steps (shaping, welding and injection moulding) into a single mould. Thus, the heating energy from the shaping step can be further used for joining and overmoulding. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=21613

RouesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Wheels are ubiquitous, not only in our daily lives but also in machinery. Lighter wheels are often beneficial as less moving mass consumes less energy. Fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) can be more than 50% lighter. Yet, their fabrication is resource-time- and energy-consuming. CompoSpoke is a manufacturing technology that aims to overcome this shortcoming. Note de contenu : - Developing lightweight wheels
- Winding with movement - From fibres to spokes
- Moving towards sustainability
