PolyarylamidesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Lightweight construction - Composites - The strength properties of new metal-replacement plastics are similar to those of reinforcing semi-finished products, such as organic sheets. In combination with foamable plastics, these new materials can be used to produce an extremely stable and lightweight composite. Suitable component geometry and large-scale manufacture by the one-shot process have been developed for these composites. Note de contenu : - Geometry conforming to the sandwich principle

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A recently developed variant for processing continuous fiber-reinforced semi-finished products by injection molding, involves positioning a defined number of UD laminates appropriate to the specific requirements in the mold and then overmolding them. The resultant lightweight, three-dimensional parts have rigidity and strength which are markedly anisotropic and optimized for their particular loading situations. - Demonstrator component reveals application potential
- Heated UD laminates pose engineering challenges
- Manufacturing skills combine to obtain molding
- Tested and found suitable for mass production
- FIGURES : 1. Demonstrator component with three UD laminate inlays of different dimensions. In the demonstrated cross-section (bottom) the inlays are colored in green - 2. For Transferring the laminates into the mold, KraussMaffei developed a specially optimized gripper system and also integrated - 3. Using the production cell completely installed by KraussMaffei, the demonstrator part could be manufactured with a cycle time of under 60s - 4. GKTool designed and built the mold for manufacturing the dmonstrator part and punch and matrix - 5. The results from the filing simulation match well with the filling study performed - 6. Depending on how the cavity fills with melt, the clamping elements can be separately retracted - 7. The comparison between simulation and the 4-point bending reveals a good match and thus the high quality of both the calculation and the component produced. The failure point under tensile (laminate on the underside) and compressive loading (laminate on the top side) is marked in red in each case

PolyuréthanesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Even though the solidification behavior of reactive polyurethane (PU) differs from that of thermoplastics, this material can be used for the projectile injection technique. The technology combines the excellent properties of PU with the economic benefits of injection molding and enables the production of complex elastomeric fluid-conducting hoses with adjustable flexibility and high impact strength. Additionally, the integration of a continuous fiber reinforcement leads to improved bursting strength in comparison to short fiber-reinforced thermoplastics.
