Procédés de fabricationIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Lightweight parts with integrated functions can be produced efficiently by combining injection molding with the thermoforming of continuous-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic inserts. KraussMaffei has taken the production cell and adapted its layout with a view to achieving precision positioning of the organic sheet and the shortest-possible transfer time to the mold. Software integrated into the machine control system supplies all the quality-related process data necessary for seamless monitoring and evaluation. Note de contenu : - Weight reduction is just one concern among several
- Transfer time as short and reproducible as possible
- From molding machine to measuring instrument
- The quality of the organic sheet insert is also key
- Process monitoring with a part-specific code number

PolypropylèneIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Large-surface components reinforced with natural fibers, which are used for the interior trim of vehicles must be light and strong. In addition, they must be fitted with integral functional elements, and have high-quality surface coatings. Intelligent combination of the processing methods thermoforming, injection molding, and reaction technology enables these complex requirements to be met efficiently. Initial close-to-production tests have confirmed the compound strength of the three processes, and demonstrate their potential for industrial applications. Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : A recently developed variant for processing continuous fiber-reinforced semi-finished products by injection molding, involves positioning a defined number of UD laminates appropriate to the specific requirements in the mold and then overmolding them. The resultant lightweight, three-dimensional parts have rigidity and strength which are markedly anisotropic and optimized for their particular loading situations. Note de contenu : - Taking material savings to the max
- Demonstrator component reveals application potential
- Heated UD laminates pose engineering challenges
- Manufacturing skills combine to obtain molding
- Tested and found suitable for mass production
- FIGURES : 1. Demonstrator component with three UD laminate inlays of different dimensions. In the demonstrated cross-section (bottom) the inlays are colored in green - 2. For Transferring the laminates into the mold, KraussMaffei developed a specially optimized gripper system and also integrated - 3. Using the production cell completely installed by KraussMaffei, the demonstrator part could be manufactured with a cycle time of under 60s - 4. GKTool designed and built the mold for manufacturing the dmonstrator part and punch and matrix - 5. The results from the filing simulation match well with the filling study performed - 6. Depending on how the cavity fills with melt, the clamping elements can be separately retracted - 7. The comparison between simulation and the 4-point bending reveals a good match and thus the high quality of both the calculation and the component produced. The failure point under tensile (laminate on the underside) and compressive loading (laminate on the top side) is marked in red in each case
