The dyes were used to dye cotton fabrics; the results showed their fixation was more than 92%, and both the rub and wash fastness of the dyes were good. The light fastness of the red and blue dyes with the ethoxy group on melamine was grade 4, and for the yellow dye reached grade 5. The poly(styrene-co-maleic acid) macromolecular reactive dyes exhibit very good application prospects in practice. Teinture -- Fibres textilesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A series of cationic reactive dyes containing both quaternary ammonium and polyetheramine as soluble groups and monochlorotriazine as a reactive group have been synthesised and applied to cellulose fibre by salt-free exhaust dyeing. Investigation of the synthesis method and dyeing properties of these cationic reactive dyes showed that the best pH value for these dyes is 6, and also that these cationic reactive dyes give a high substantivity to cellulose. In the salt-free dyeing process, their adsorption was consistent with the Langmuir isotherm during the primary exhaustion stage, but in the secondary exhaustion stage the adsorption was in accordance with the Freundlich isotherm, and their secondary exhaustion reached up to 96% and above. Moreover, the degree of fixation, the levelling, and the transfer properties on cotton fabric were good. Light fastness reached grade 5–6, washing, perspiration, and dry rubbing fastness reached grade 4 and above, but wet rubbing fastness reached only grade 3–4. Teinture -- Fibres textiles synthétiquesIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : A series of new dyes based on the N-analogue of Pechmann hybrid dyes were prepared by the condensation of different 5-aryl derivatives of pyrrolinone ester (phenyl, 4-bromophenyl, thienyl, and biphenyl) with isatin. N-Alkylated derivatives were also prepared using bromoethyl acetate. Full 1H and 13C NMR assignment was performed. All prepared dyes were soluble in most organic solvents: N-alkylated derivatives had better solubility than non-alkylated derivatives. The UV-vis absorption spectra of the derivatives under study are quite similar and exhibit maxima in the 509–526 nm range. No E/Z photoisomerisation is observed. The dyeing process, dye exhaustion on polyester, and the fastness properties of the dyes were examined. FluorescenceIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Novel solid-state fluorescent azo colourants derived from 5-amino-2-(4-dimethylaminophenyl) benzimidazole as electron donor were synthesised. The colourants were characterised by means of elemental analysis, 1H NMR, and mass spectrometry. These colourants showed molar extinction coefficients in the range 12 000–48 000 dm3 mol?1 cm?1. These compounds exhibited solid-state fluorescence under short UV (254 nm). Electron coupling originating from broad ?-electron delocalisation and keto–enol form is responsible for the large Stokes shift as indicated by absorption and fluorescence spectra. These colourants were soluble in polar aprotic high-boiling solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide, N,N-dimethylacetamide, and dimethyl sulphoxide, whereas they were insoluble in other common organic solvents. Thermogravimetric analysis of solid-state fluorescent colourants showed that two of the colourants showed thermal stability in the range 230–240 °C, whereas for the rest of the colourants it was found to be lower, and hence the two colourants could find application in the coloration of polymers. PyrazolesIndex. décimale : 675 Technologie du cuir et de la fourrure Résumé : A novel series of 4-amine-1-pheny1-3methyl-5-pyrazolone based metal complex azo acid dyes (1a-5d) has been prepared from p- Sulphophenyl methyl pyrazolone (1). The synthetic route included the nitrosation of the p-sulphophenyl methyl pyrazolone followed by the reduction to 4-amino-1-(p-sulphopheny1)-3-methy1-4-amino-5-pyrazolone. Diazotization of intermediate (II) and then coupling was done with Naphthol derivatives (1a-5d), in alkaline medium to produce different acid dyes. These dyes were further processed for metallization with 3d transition metals like iron ; chromium and copper. The structures of the novel dyes were confirmed by spectroscopic techniques. The synthesized dyes were applied on leather to evaluate their light fastness, wash fastness and perspiration fastness and must of the dyes were shown to possess high values (rafing 4-5).
