The approach is to introduce the new techniques (principles, theoretical aspects), to compare the old and new ways in practical lab tests and to present conclusions and recommendations.
TurbiditéIndex. décimale : 667.3 Teinture et impression des tissus Résumé : Ordinary optical absorption spectroscopy is used to assess the effects of reflection, scattering and optical absoprtion on light beams passing through sheets of cellulose triacetate fabric. The attenuation of light transmitted through multipl sheets of undyed fabric analysed using a model that incorporates the concepts of reflection and turbidity. The attenuation of light by sheets of dyed fabric under conditions of significant light scattering is analysed using the model cited above. The results obtained under conditions of significant light scattering yield optical absorbance values for dye molecules incorporated in the fabric that correspond exactly with the absorbance values measured under conditions of total transparency, which is achieved using matching index of refraction spectroscopy.

TurbiditéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The permitted use of formaldehyde as a preservative in coatings are restricted by various regulations. However, remaining turbidity frequently found in UV/VIS spectroscopic samples can produce inaccurate centrifuged readings. Absorbance readings taken from samples placed inside an integrating sphere can eliminate these errors. Note de contenu : - Limits of the standard spectroscopic method
- Calibration : tests on clear systems
- Why the calibration curve is not linear
