Construction accounts for nearly 65 per cent of the total investment in infrastructure and is expected to be the biggest beneficiary of the surge in infrastructure investment over the next five years. Investment in construction accounts for nearly 11 per cent of India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). As opportunities in the sector continue to come to the fore, foreign direct investment has been moving upwards.
This article covers basic principles of two-component waterborne polyurethane coatings and its applications for both walls and floors in construction areas. It also presents the results based on intensive lab evaluations with different combinations of polyol dispersions and hydrophilic polyisocyanates for performance adjustment in order to meet different performance and cost requirements. The coatings can be easy-to-clean, anti-graffiti for the use of exterior/interior walls, interior walls for hospitals, schools & kindergartens, electronic plants, food processing workshops, kitchens, metro stations etc. It can also be used as topcoat of floor coatings for commercial and industrial areas with excellent abrasion resistance, scratch resistance & chemical resistance. The real life cases will be analyzed in this article as well.Note de contenu : - APPLICATIONS

Vernis en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.7 Cires, laques, vernis Résumé : The impacts of impregnation and bleaching on the varnish layer hardness of Oriental beech (Fagus orientalist L.) wood were investigated. A number of bleaching combinations {[NaOH-H2O2], [NaOH-Ca(OH)2-H2O2], [NaOH-MgSO4-H2O2], [NaHSO3-H2C2O4], [NaSiO3-H2O2], [KMnO4 + NaHSO3 + H2O2]} were applied at 18% concentration for bleaching to both impregnated and unimpregnated specimens of Oriental beech wood. Subsequently, water-based (WB) varnish was coated over the samples and the varnish layer hardness values were determined in accordance with ASTM D 4366-95. All of the chemicals used for bleaching reduced the surface hardness. However, after varnish coating, the hardness of most samples was similar to that of the varnish-coated natural (control) samples. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Since some time, there has been a trend in the waterborne decorative paints market to formulate matt interior wall paints at higher pigment volume concentration (PVC) as the binder is one of the paint ingredients which contributes significantly to the overall paint cost. On the other hand, it is well known that lowering the amount of binder in a waterborne paint formulation has a clear negative impact on the paint performance ; especially it will lower the scrub resistance. Therefore, lattices with high binding power need to be used in such paint formulation. Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=13846

Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Low viscosity and regulatory compliant (tin-free) prototype offers a robust single-coat spray usage for wood coating applications and ensures the formation of mirror-like coatings with a good hiding power.
A new high-solids and solvent-free radiation curable polyurethane dispersion has been developed for high gloss applications with excellent DOI. The product has an excellent colloïdal stability (shelf life of 12 months) and complies with VOC-free, tin-free and stenomer-free requirennents. Due to its low viscosity and its good responsiveness to rheology modifiers, it can be easily applied by spray, roller or curtain coating operation. Its value-in-use was optimised by significantly reducing polymer flow after drying and before radiation curing. The product can be advantageously applied in one single coat and enables one to get rid of sanding step required in between topcoat layers with former products applied in two layers. The cured coating exhibits good chemical and scratch resistance required for high-end wooden furniture top coats — although it can aise be used for other substrates and applications.Note de contenu : - The creep measurement
