Polyphthalamide
Soudage laserIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Until now, laser welding of polyphthalamide was considered impossible or problematic. Therefore, the polymer is mainly used in combination with other welding technologies such as vibration and IR welding. This is set to change in the future. Plastics manufacturer Envalior and LPKF Welding Equipment have been working together on solutions that enable laser welding of polyphthalamide. Possibilities have also been found for fiber-reinforced and flame-retardant grades. Note de contenu : - High temperature PPA for electrical and electronic applications
- Welding of highly reinforced PPA
- Welding of halogen-free, flame retardant PPA
- Welding of LDS grades

Soudures
Thermoplastiques -- Propriétés mécaniquesIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : We experimentally establish a plastic and breaking intrinsic stress criterion for welded joints made by laser radiation using the TWISTr configuration. This welding is used in junction of two plastics materials, one laser transparent, one no laser transparent as control panels. Two types of plastic materials have been studied, ABS and PA66 polymers. The yield surface which characterize the limit of elasticity and the rupture surface have been described by a modified Drucker-Prager criterion identified in the case of complex mixed modes state of stresses coupling tensile and shear stresses. The conclusion is that ABS is a good candidate for laser welding application, whereas PA66 presents lower mechanical properties in the welding area. For design purpose of welded zones, the proposed Drucker-Prager criterion has been used for the calculation and the simulation of breaking welded ABS plates and welded PA66 step plates. The comparison between experimental and numerical simulation values shows a relatively good agreement. Note de contenu : - LASER PROCESSING AND BEAM SOURCES DESCRIPTION

Structuration directe par laser
VerreIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Transparent functional and design elements often consist of glass and plastic materials. But there may be problems in bonding them using adhesives or adhesion promoters, since adhesives only have limited aging resistance and glass is usually not easily wetted. High-strength hybrid connections are made possible with a two-step process, in which a laser first creates micro- and nanoscale structures in the glass, into which the plastic melt can subsequently penetrate. Note de contenu : - Laser-structuring of glass materials
- Joining with new laser wavelength
- Factors influencing the bond strength
- Laser structuring of a glass sample by means of CO2 laser radiation : the microstructures are introduced into a glass substrate with a thickness of 3 mm at spacings of 1 mm. This is performed by means of a scanner system, which guides the laser beam over the glass substrate in multiple passes at high speed. When the laser beam impinges on it, the material is vaporized ; the ablated particles can be seen as a yellow jet of flame
- Fig. 1 : Glass- plastic hybrid bonds combine the specific advantages of the two material classes. A typical application is a car headlamp, which requires high transparency and shape flexibility
- Fig. 2 : Laser-based manufacture of a glass-plastic bond in two steps : Laser structuring and laser joining
- Fig. 3 : Glass-plastic hybrid bond after joining : the structured glass sample forms a firm bond with the planar sample of polycarbonate. The plastic was irradiated in the region of the microstructures on an area of 10 mm x 20 mm. Due to the high transparency of a the two joint parts, the molten region can hardly be seen with the naked eye
- Fig. 4 : Micrograph of the microstructures : the glass is ablated layer by means of a USP laser beam. Compared to machining by CO laser beam, the high-precision ablation can generate structures with hardly any damage.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tLXMfrHXT0yX1xES0SYw_ZfaaVd9tKHi/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=34717
