les polyoléfines thermoplastiques semi-cristallines : polyéthylène (PE), polypropylène (PP), polyméthylpentène (PMP), polybutène-1 (PB-1) ;

ViscoélasticitéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Pipelines provide a safe, sustainable, reliable, and economic solution for the transport of oil, gas, and water. Most transmission fines today are buried and are protected from corrosion using high performance coatings backed-up with cathodic protection, they are therefore unseen and generally secure from third party interference.
India has thousands of kilometers of pipelines which are nearing their design lifetime and were installed and coated over-the-ditch ; recoating these fines can greatly extend their useful lifetime and avoid costly leaks and failures.
This paper details various methods of modern rehabilitation and reviews the different technologies and coating choices available, together with application methods and their associated costs.Note de contenu : - PARAMETERS FOR SELECTION OF REHABILITATION COATINGS : Type of external corrosion - Type of parent coating - Environmental, health and safety regulations - Field application - Surface preparation - Application process - Past track record

Revêtements protecteurs -- NormesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The ultimate or universal field-joint coating does not exist, but there are many varied and well-proven technologies currently available, all of which have their strengths and weaknesses. However, specifying or selecting the most appropriate solution for any given project is not necessarily straightforward. In such situations, reference to standards is often the first port of call, but in the case of field-joint coatings this presents some challenges. ISO 21809-3: 2016 and CSA Z245.30-14 are both commonly quoted in the industry but suffer from the same shortcomings in that they specify minimum performance requirements for a wide variety of generic classes of coating system, yet the requirements are quite different from one class to the next. Thus, as previously noted, compliance with the requirements of the standard provides no confirmation that the system in question will fulfill the specific needs of the project. Rather, that will depend upon whether an appropriate generic system has been specified in the first instance.
In the author’s opinion, EN 12068 adopts a more logical approach, defining mechanical classes of performance that are universal and not specific to any generic technology, thereby enabling multiple technologies to be assessed against a common set of requirements. The downside of the standard is that its scope is confined to tapes and heat-shrinkable materials, so it cannot be considered universally applicable. The ideal industry standard would therefore seem to be one which mirrors the approach utilized in EN 12068, combined with the breadth of scope associated with ISO 21809-3.Note de contenu : - ISO 21809-3 : 2016

RugositéIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Thin film epoxy coatings have long been known to reduce the internal roughness, and hence the friction factor of natural gas flow lines. A new generation of solvent free materials provide the pipe coater with a choice of environmentally sustainable solution without increased coating thickness or loss of performance.
The environmental benefits of solvent free epoxy lining is illustrated, together with a study of the surface roughness parameters of internally coated pipe as a function of flow coating volume solids.Note de contenu : - Performance requirements : General - Formulatory considerations

Spectroscopie d'impédance électrochimiqueIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In this research, the corrosion resistance and adhesion property of a synthetic rubber-based primer reinforced with different ratios of micaceous iron oxide (MIO) pigments were studied. Coatings were applied on carbon steel panels and also on steel pipes of 219.1 mm outer diameter. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to investigate the dispersion of MIO particles in the rubbery matrix. The anticorrosion performance of the coatings was studied, using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and salt spray tests. In addition, the adhesion of primers to carbon steel substrates was evaluated by pull-off test. In order to investigate the effect of MIO particles on the flexibility of the pigmented primers, a cupping test was conducted. The adhesion of cold-applied tape to the formulated primers was assessed by peel adhesion test using hanging mass method. The results indicated that adding 5, 10, and 15 wt% of MIO pigments into the primer improved corrosion resistance of the coatings. An increase in the MIO loading up to 10 wt%, improved the adhesion of the primer to both steel substrate and cold-applied tape. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials - Preparation of coatings
