Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Industrial adhesive bonding continues to move into the focus of product development and production engineers. The growth of this trend stems from the increasing demand to join, or apply a seal between, similar or dissimilar materials and also the higher process control requirements that are being implemented in production environments. In this context, a clean and adherable surface is crucial. The variable atmospheric plasma device will ensure this clean and adherable surface on all typical and extraordinarily demanding applications. Note de contenu : - The trend goes to hybrids

Traction (mécanique)Index. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : Core-shell structurel nanofibers of sodium alginate/polyvinylalcohol (SA/PVA) were prepared via coaxial electrospinning, with SA acting as a core and PVA as a shell. Due to its very good hemostasis, hydrophilic, non-toxic and biodegradable properties, SA nanofibers show great potential in the biomedical field. However, as a polyelectrolyte with high conductivity, the repulsive force among the molecules hinders the electrospinning of SA. PVA, however, can be easily electrospun into nanofibers, and PVA nanofibers exhibit high tensile strength, tensile modulus and abrasion re-sistance. In this study, SA-PVA core-shell nanofibers were successfully elec-trospun, and the morphology and composition of the resultant fibers were characterized by SEM, TEM and FT-IR spectroscopy respectively. Transition vitreuseIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : One of the most commonly used vegetable oil plasticizer in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is epoxidized soybean oil (ESBO). On the contrary, epoxidized palm oil is among the least used, because of its low compatibility with PVC. This work reports that epoxidized and esterified palm kernel oil (EEPKO) has the potential to be used as a plasticizer for PVC. In this study, it was found that a maximum of 65 phr of EEPKO could be incorporated within the PVC resin. In addition, subjecting this EEPKO plasticized PVC (p-PVC) at a processing temperature of 200 °C resulted in much reduced plasticizer loss. EEPKO lowers the glass transition temperature of PVC from 79 °C to ?23 °C. The optimum mechanical properties, namely tensile strength, elongation at break and hardness, were obtained for p-PVC processed at 200 °C.
