Surfactants réactifs -- SynthèseIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : A series of novel anionic fumaric polymerizable surfactants with different lengths of carbon chains (C8–C14) were synthesized. The chemical structure of the surfactants was confirmed by 1H NMR, IR and MS. The values of critical micellar concentration (cmc) and gamma-cmc of the surfactants were determined. The surface properties of this series of designed polymerizable surfactants show their potential application in the emulsion polymerization to improve the stability of the latices and water sensitivity of the films. Index. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : Fourteen new sulfobetaines with N-alkylmorpholinium moiety have been synthesized using correspording N-alkylmorpholines and propanesultone or butanesultone. Their interfacial activities in aqueous solution were studied by equilibrium and dynamic surface tension measurements. Surface tension measurements provide information about the surface excess concentration, the minimum area per surfactant molecule, the critical micellar concentration (CMC) and the standard Gibbs energy of adsorption. The adsorption properties of these compounds significantly depend on the length of alkyl chain (the number of carbons). The lowest value of critical micellar concentration is obtained for the compound with the longest carbon chain and decrease with increasing of chain length of compounds considered. The same tendency is observed for effectiveness of adsorption. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURES

EstersIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : The long reaction time and low conversion of the existing technologies in indirect synthesis of disodium mono-fatty alcohol citrate constrain their industrialized application. Here, we developed a new technology and synthesized a series of monoester of citric acid salts different carbon atoms in hydrophobic group. The structures of intermediate and products were defined by infrared spectra and hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. Their physico-chemical properties were systematically studied for the first time, including equilibrium surface tension, wetting ability, emulsification stability and foaming behavior in aqueous solution. The results show that ifs the number of carbon atoms in the hydrophobic group increases, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) decreases, wetting ability weakens, the foaming volume in hard water increases and emulsification stability for liquid paraffin and bean oil increases, but opposite for oil acid.

Tension superficielleIndex. décimale : 668.1 Agents tensioactifs : savons, détergents Résumé : A lactobionamide-based polysiloxane surfactant (LBPS) with well-defined structure was prepared via a two-step method. Structure characterization of the LBPS was performed by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR). Surface activity and aggregation behavior in aqueous solution of the LBPS were investigated by surface tension measurements, dynamic light scattering (DLS) and negative-stain transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the critical micelle concentration (CMC) and surface tension (γCMC) at the CMC in aqueous solution of the LBPS are 7.7 mg · L–1 and 27.5 mN · m–1, respectively, and the surfactants can self-assemble into spherical micelles with diameters in the range from 30 to 250 nm. A computer program was made and used to calculate molecular interaction parameters (beta) using the widely accepted regular solution theory. This information allowed for the prediction of monomer levels at and above the CMC in mixed surfactant solutions having known CMC values. Such information is included for a series of amphoteric surfactants interacting with SLES-2 at pH 7 and ranked according to their efficiency in lowering the free anionic monomer content in the bulk phase. There is strong debate over whether a correlation truly exists between skin irritancy and CMC techniques. This technique and software provide part of the data set that can help support of refuse such a correlation.
This technique was also used to prescreen a developmental non-ionic surfactant for counter-irritancy with C14-16 alpha olefin sulfonates. The test surfactant was found to lack synergy with the anionic mixture, thus predicting that it would not be a milder system. This prescreening prevented testing this system on humans or animals.
The model was extended to calculate the interaction of Polysorbate-20 with propylparaben. The free active level(ex-micelle) of preservative was calculated as a function of total amount of preservative added. A strong interaction reduced the unbound propylparaben concentration such that anti-microbial activity was lost.Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=10604
