Stabilité chimiqueIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Creams, shower gels and bubble baths are often developed with a color concept to achieve a refreshing or relaxing effect or to emphasize certain ingredients. Natural extracts are particularly popular in natural cosmetics, but also come with challenges when used in aqueous products and their storage. With this study we propose a method to verify stability and to reconcile product efficacy and shelf life. We also highlight the advantages to not only work with coloring the product, but also pay attention to the design of the packages, especially with regards to colors and smart labelling, to support the appearance and message of the product.
Note de contenu : - MATERIALS AND METHODS : Identification of grifolin derivatives - IC50 determination for binding of prenylated phenols - Functional inhibition of the TRPV1 receptor - Inhibition of CGRP release - Calculation of Hill coefficients from publication data - In vivo studies - In vivo study with grifolin - In vivo study with albatrellus ovinus extract - Determination of heat pain thresholds

Produits capillairesIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Hair loss is a problem that affects both men and women and has diverse origins. Despite the different aetiologies, there is a common link between them : dermal papilla cells become latent, and all the hair growth processes stop. The ingredient CAPILIA LONGA ppf, made from Curcuma longa (Turmeric) callus culture, offers a solution to the problem. lt represents the first generation of plant peptides (Phyto-Peptidic FractionsTM) and achieves hair growth reactivation through a biological approach : rich in signalling peptides specially designed to create the optimal micro-environment to reactivate growth, it produces an epigenetic reset of the hair bulb, reactivating dermal papilla cells and simultaneously nourishing the hair follicle with a nutritive blend, It represents a new activity profile for the species : a new range of bioactives (curcurnin is only 2-5% turmeric powder). A full panel of tests support there claims : in vitro studies measured the ability of the ingredient to activate processes of proliferation and release of key growth factors for the production of new hair and epigenetic modulation in dermal papilla cells, while the in vivo tests showed up to 89% hair loss reduction, up to 52% increase of hair density and an average of 13,500 new hairs. kératineLa kératine est une protéine, synthétisée et utilisée par de nombreux êtres vivants comme élément de structure, et également l'exemple-type de protéine fibreuse.

Régénération (biologie)Index. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : To explore the field of epigenetics in greater detail, BASF researchers have joined forces and established an interdisciplinary innovation platform. Together with experts from public and private research institutions, they are exploring how modulations to our gene expression, caused by either chronological aging or environmental factors, can be mapped and controlled. New anti-aging active ingredients harness the platform's findings. Dermagenist®, an extract of Origanum majorana leaves, is the first active ingredient that re-activates fibroblasts by protecting them from epigenetic modifications and stimulating their vitality through LOXL1 promoter re-activation. A clinical study demonstrated an 18 % improvement in skin density after tvvo months of application, and a 15% improvement in skin firmness after three months. RNAge®, an extract of Hippophae rhamnoides seeds, fights chronological microRNA Let-7b dysregulation. Researchers has demonstrated that Let-7b is involved in epigenetic regulation and the balancing of proteins in both the extracellular matrix and the proteoglycan network required for a well-balanced dermal structure. RNAge inhibited Let-7b expression by 39 % versus the untreated control. The skin rebuilds from deep within, recovering its density (+26%) and firmness (+18.5%) for a healthy and youthful appearance.
