Silicones -- Suppression ou remplacementIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : It is our concern to identify the trends in the cosmetic market and to understand this evolution so as to be in a position to create distinctive, innovative skin care products.
Today's consumers have a new emotion-based approach to buying. Even if product performance is an integral part of modern skin care products, distinctive, sensory qualities, real pleasure in using the product and fewer chemical ingredients are key factors for product success.
A survey of the cosmetic market has enabled us to identify the main characteristics and qualities of product that have proved to be a tremendous success with the consumers (not merely marketing claims) : 0/W emulsion with several types of silicone oils, with a light texture, easy spreading, and a comfortable, caring after-feel effect.
This article describes how we have integrated all these observations in our development process to propose to our consumers an innovative concept for a new skin care product.
We have followed a new approach in the choice of raw materials and we have used accurate, objective methods to follow up stability and to characterise the texture.

Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL STUDY : Samples - Factorial design study - Texture analysis - Rheology measurements - Microscopic analysis

Perte insensible en eauIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : To answer the increasing need for personalisation in skin and hair care routines and satisfy the pampering trend reinforced during the pandemic lockdown, the Oil Gel Emulsifier technology can be used to create products that are visually attractive. We have seen how, at a low use level of up to 5%, a translucent or transparent oil gel appearance can be achieved using the external and internal phases’ index-matching technique. The technology can help reinforce concepts for transforming textures and indulging the luxurious nourishing of oil formats. This oil gel technology can be deployed to innovate skin and hair routines to provide consumers with significant benefits they cannot find in existing regimens and traditional personal care products. Consumers are likely to be pleasantly intrigued by the transforming format and subsequent benefits the oil gel brings, along with the opportunity to enjoy a truly memorable, sensorial experience. TexturantsIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Why do consumers need transforming textures ? The feedback Brenntag has received from them down the years suggests that there are several key reasons. Serums are not nourishing enough, according to some ; others say that oils are often too greasy and form a 'puddle' effect that spreads but does not penetrate ; others say that gels tend to stick and then dry out.
Today, consumers want to be amazed by a personal care product and texture is absolutely critical to this process. It happens in the first instance because of the fragrance, which is the first criterion for the initial purchase and subsequent brand loyalty to a product. The second factor is the sensory one, touch.
Humans are connected to the world through their senses and it is important to create a very good experience with a product that they can engage with. In particular, people appreciate that a texture is transformed when it comes into contact with their skin. Brands have understood this and have made their formulators work on new galenics that bring together the strengths of several textures :
Cosmetic product performance, which is based on three pillars, all of which must be present in any successful product :
- Safety : the protection of the consumer and its environment
- Efficiency : bringing the performance that guarantees consumer satisfaction
- Sensory : improving the consumer's pleasure in the use of a productNote de contenu : - Transforming texture
