In fact fifty years ago, virtually ail paints used were solvent based paints. Today, advances in Emulsion Polymers have resulted in the development of water based enamel that can look and perform like solvent based paints when applied, not only on walls but also, on wood & metal. While water based emulsion paints are safer to use for both health and environmental point of view, use of solvent based paints add to environmental and safety concerns. Major reason for their use till now is that they were economical and emulsion polymers had not yet been developed to deliver equivalent performance. This trend of using Water based Enamel Paints already exists in developed countries and is now catching up in India too.
