UrethanesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Hydroxyl functional aliphatic urethane oil was synthesised using enzymatically-modified castor oil. Lipase catalysed interesterification of castor oil and linseed oil was carried out at near ambient temperature instead of at higher temperature used in chemically catalysed reactions. The interesterified product was further reacted with isophorone diisocyanate to form -OH terminated urethane oils. Hexa (methoxymethyl) melamine (HMMM) was used as a cross-linker to study the effect of cross-linker on coatings properties of urethane oils.
Very light coloùred urethane oils were obtained. The use of HMMM showed a very significant improvement in drying time, hardness, flexibility, storage stability, solvent resistance and impact resistance. However, as the % of HMMM increased a very poor chemical resistance towards water, acid and alkali was observed.Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL : Materials - Crosslinker - Specifications

ViscositéIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : An analysis of some of the shear adhesion data was attempted in an earlier study but could not completed due to some problems with the static shear test and its inability to measure high-sehar values. At that time, however, a strong correlation was noted between some of the log of the shear values obtained and the log of Mn.
The main problem with the static shear test is that adhesives based on S-I-S block copolymers have such high room temperature shear values, that only highly plasticized formulations can be evaluated in a convenient period of time.
Work by Adriane Moser at Virginia Tech under the direction of Prof. John Dillard has made some progress towards the development of a dynamic test that would still correlate with the static test. Unfortunately, this work is not yet complete and only the 15 percent oil compositions, A and C, could be evaluated here.
Shear adhesion values were evaluated in the same manner as the viscosity results. A Correlation between log shear and log Mn,was still noted but, it was no longer particularly strong. Also, no significant correlation was observed between log shear and any of the variables relating to compatibility or aromatic content. A good model for the characterisation of shear adhesion will have to await further development.En ligne : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YpBf0ij3Wg8WHhTIRFbXfYVatpHPDgif/view?usp=drive [...] Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=20045

Vernis bi-composantIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : A 100% active diol modifying resin designed to enhance the performance of 2-component polyurethane coatings has been developed.
Polyurethane floor coatings require good abrasion resistance, hardness, chemical resistance and stain resistance. They also require good mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness, ftexibility and tear resistance. A challenge for polyurethane coating formulators is to develop systems that meet these requirements with resin systems that have low viscosities without the use of volatile solvents.
A unique 100% active diol modifying resin designed to enhance the performance of 2-component (2K) polyurethane coatings has been developed. Four 100% non-volatile floor coating studies will be reviewed demonstrating the effect of modifying aromatic and aliphatic polyurethane systems. This diol modifying resin helps to produce films with higher tensile strength, elastic modulus, better abrasion resistance, higher hardness and improved chemical resistance versus the control formulations.Note de contenu : - PRIMARY HYDROXYL GROUPS AND REACTIVITY WITH POLYISOCYANATES

SilanesIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : The advantages of silane-modified polymeric binders have been recognized in coatings, adhesives and sealants markets. The increased accessibility of isocyanate silanes to the market will allow this technology to grow further, due to processing simplicity and applicability to a wide range of polymers.
The use of isocyanate silanes and polyols to make precursors for elastomeric sealants generally provides silylated polymers with lower viscosity than that obtained by other methods. easier formulation and mixing is one benefit.
As with conventional polyurethanes, the properties of these SPUR polymers can be tailor-made to range from low modulus to high modulus to meet the demands of different markets. These silane-terminated prepolymers may be used for formulating on-part room temperature moisture-cure sealants or adhesives with identified benefits such as superior adhesion performance, UV stability/weatherability and chemical resistance. Moreover, the characteristic of relatively fast cure makes the isocyanate silane-capped SPUR technology worth examining for insulated glass and automotive windshield sealant applications.
The aliphatic isocyanate groups of Silquest A-Link 35 and Silquest A-Link 25 silanes allow them to be used in the modification of a wide range of polymers that contain functional groups of OH, SH and NH2. The modification process can be carried out in different types of apparatus. The silane-modified polymers provide the enhanced mechanical properties, excellent adhesion and improved high-fail temperature in shear that can especially beneficial to hot melt adhesives.Note de contenu : - Preparation of sealants based on SPUR prepolymers
