Currently, many approaches are being offered to help reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC) in industrial coatings. The use of reactive diluent chemistries has proven to be a viable concept in meeting current VOC compliance mandates. As newer regulations limit VOC more severely, more effective reactive diluents will be essential to meet the lower VOC requirements. A new class of ultra-low viscosity oxazolidine-based reactive diluents has been found which demonstrates excellent reactivity while also improving coating performance. As a result of this development, current solvent-borne industrial urethane coating technology can be made to meet the new VOC regulations as well as offering an effective solution toward compliance of any future mandated VOC levels. Revêtements (produits chimiques):Peinture (produits chimiques)Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : For a healthy life it is necessary to breath in the air which is unpolluted. For example, New Delhi's air quality is two times bad than Beijing. WHO survey of 1600 world cities shows that our capital has the worst air quality of any major city in the world. Air pollution in India is estimated to kill 1.5 million people every year ; it is the fifth largest killer in India. India has the world's highest death rate from chronic respiratory diseases and asthma, according to the WHO. In Delhi, poor quality air damages irreversibly the lungs of 2.2 million or 50 percent of all children. As reflected when outside air quality is worse ; than interior air quality where we spend our most of time also requires attentions.
In recent years there has been a considerable amount of work on the improvement of Interior Air Quality. (IAQ) Many new formulations are made to resolve this problem some people achieved desirable efficiency. Many new suggestions are given by some researchers. In this paper it is our main concern to compare and review those suggestions. We will try to find how those ideas are better than conventional interior air quality improvement systems. In future the demand of improved air quality will increase surely and people will come towards the air quality improving coating and paints. As it will become the necessity of time. So, the future of this area is unlimited to be explored.Note de contenu : - Interior air quality

Pollution -- Lutte contreIndex. décimale : 677.4 Textiles artificiels Résumé : In recent years, many countries have been establishing effluent standards because of the escalating water pollution. For this reason the importance of water treatment is rapidly increasing. At the same time, air pollution is also a big problem. Ion exchange is one of the environmentally-conscious approaches towards these problems, which can apply to the metal removal, metal adsorption, and air purification. Revêtements en phase aqueuse:Peinture en phase aqueuseIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Zero VOC, hazardous air pollutant free coatings formulations can be readily prepared from liquid cycloaliphatic epoxies and narrow polydispersity caprolactone polyols. These formulations can be applied by conventional spray equipment and are a viable liquid alternative to powder coatings. Using conventional liquid spray equipment, the capital investment for the installation of a new powder coating line can be avoided. With modification, these coatings can be diluted with water and thickened with conventional cellulosic thickeners used in waterborne coatings. In this study, we discuss the influence of key formulating variables like epoxy/hydroxyl mole ratio, catalyst concentration, polyol molecular weight, and polydispersity on coating properties. Viscosity reduction and sag resistance are also discussed.
