The trend towards combining ever more complex functions in one plastic part is presenting new challenges for specimen testing. In addition to the test demands achieved for the applicability, the definition of the test parameters in close cooperation with engineering, simulation, component validation and materials experts contributes in particular to precluding failure of the component during the demanded service life with the greatest possible reliability. Note de contenu : - Virtual component testing at the computer
- Plastics-oriented testing of specimen parts
- Approaches to shortening the test duration
- Organizational test duration optimization
- Predicting the service lifePermalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=16383

Matériaux d'emballage -- RecyclageIndex. décimale : 668.5 Parfums et cosmétiques Résumé : Hardly any other topic has occupied the players in the cosmetics industry as intensively in recent years as the question of sustainability. Regardless of whether new solutions are sought for products, ingredients or packaging, there is no way around an adequate sustainability consideration these days. Especially with regard to the packaging of cosmetics, there are many different approaches to solutions that are marketed as sustainable. In order to distinguish greenwashing from genuinely exemplary approaches, a detailed look and appropriate background knowledge is necessary.
With the aim of establishing all-round sustainable packaging solutions for everyday products, the company rezemo is developing a unique group of materials under the brand name forewood that consists entirely of bio-based raw materials. The wood fibre biopolymer composites form a powerful alternative to fossil plastics and thus open up new ways to design packaging in different applications. The article highlights different approaches to developing sustainable packaging and shows why the use of wood as a natural product should become part of our daily livesNote de contenu : - Packaging - Curse or blessing ?
- The plastic dilemna
- Enabling multiple use with deposit systems
- The sustainability promise of recycling
- Designing packaging with wood fibers
- What is behind the term bioplastics ?

Résistance aux conditions climatiquesIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : The suitability of confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) in examining a wood-coating interface was evaluated using a clear coating system. A comparison of the images of the wood-clear coating interface obtained using CLSM and light microscopy (LM) showed a marked superiority of CLSM in revealing the details of the physical nature of the interaction between the clear coating and the wood cell walls in the surface layer. The most distinct advantage of CLSM was in its ability to clearly resolve penetration of the coating into very fine cracks in cell walls, details not obtainable with LM. The information presented here demonstrates that CLSM has the potential to greatly enhance our understanding of the physical aspects of an interaction between the wood and coating at the interface.
