These performances are governed by the dispersion of organic fillers and interface of elastomer nanocomposites. Herein, the designed physical and chemical hybrid-network based on tannic acid (TA) as interface regulator and cross-link agent can endow graphene/elastomer nanocomposites with reinforcement as well as toughness simultaneously. The results indicate the formation of a strong and stable network structure composed of elastomer chains and graphene, contrary to traditional graphene/elastomer nanocomposites. The present composites with a physical and chemical hybrid-network effectively improve the load transfer and show excellent mechanical properties. Note de contenu : - EXPERIMENTAL SECTION : Materials

RhéologieRésumé : The aim of this article is to upgrade the performance of polypropylene/ethylene propylene rubber (PP/EPR) blends by addition of hydrophobic nanosilica (SiR805) and using "high shear processing technology". The morphological developments, mechanical and rheological properties of these composites were investigated as a function of processing conditions. High shear processing has proved to be an efficient process to decrease the size of the dispersed phase (EPR) up to 300 nm and to disperse finely nanosilica particles to less than 30 nm especially at 800 min?1. Moreover, the morphology stability of the nanocomposite is ascribed to the formation of a core shell structure (EPR nodules = core; nano-silica = shell) and selective location of nanosilica at the interface. More importantly, this core-shell structure is favoured to enhance the impact strength of the (PP/EPR)/3 wt% SiR805 nanocomposite. In agreement to the obtained morphology, the improvement (about 60 %) of elongation at break attests a good adhesion between phases due to high shear effect as highlighted by viscoelastic properties. Therefore, high shear processing technology has proved to be a relevant method to prepare nanocomposites with high performances without adding any additive and offers new perspectives for recycling and lightening structures. ViscoélasticitéIndex. décimale : 668.3 Adhésifs et produits semblables Résumé : Fracture tests were conducted on bulk samples of a rubber-toughened epoxy that models the fracture behavior of commercial structural adhesives. The samples were loaded with a variety of loading histories. The histories were selected to examine the dependency of fracture energy on loading rate, loading level, time under load, and recovery after loading. The results suggest that unless the load levels are a substantial fraction of the failure load, the loading history has little effect, at least for the time scales studied here. When the loads are high, however, the time under load becomes important and produces significant increases in toughness. If the sample is unloaded and allowed to recover, some but all of the additional toughness is lost. These results are consistent with a viscoelastic toughening mechanism and can be qualitatively explained with sample crack-tip blunting model. In particular, our interest was in the generation of secondary alcohol moieties on a guayule rubber backbone, and its use as part of a novel and, as yet, unreported powder coating formulation. Hydroxylated guayule rubber was found to improve toughness, flexibility, and solvent resistance of powder coatings. Index. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : In recent years, the industry has succeeded in achieving adequate performance of coatings for automotive, industrial, and decorative applications, both in terms of mechanical and aesthetical properties. Nevertheless, there is an increasing demand for novel light stabilizers which can meet even today's higher performance and quality requirements as well as cost pressures. It is well known, for example in the automotive industry, that UV-absorbers (UVA) based on hydroxyphenyl-s-triazines (HPT) are capable of fulfilling these requirements where 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-benzotriazoles (BTZ) tend to fail or show inferior properties. Besides the well-known HPT for automotive applications, other high-performance products have been developed for an even broader range of applications comprising, for example, thin- or reduced-film applications, powder coatings, and extremely durable wood coatings. New encapsulation techniques make it even possible to convert most of these hydrophobic products into highly compatible and stable water-based product forms. This opens the door for the advanced HPT UVA for a broad range of possible waterborne and solventborne DOI : 10.1007/s11998-007-9025-0 En ligne : https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007%2Fs11998-007-9025-0.pdf Format de la ressource électronique : Permalink : https://e-campus.itech.fr/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3611
