Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 668.4 Plastiques, vinyles Résumé : Linear plasma - A new type of surface technology offers the advantages of corona treatment for materials of any thickness for the first time. The atmospheric pressure plasma process modifies the surface of plastic solid and multi-wall sheets, polymer foams and composite materials in the sub-nanometre range to provide reliable adhesion of printing inks, adhesives, paints/lacquers and other coatings.

Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Painting on bridges has multifarious role : decoration, protection and functional. There have been lots of development in every sphere of painting system : surface preparation, primer to top coat, pain application equipments, etc. Environment, painting cost and performance of die coatings are the basic reasons behind the development of newer technology. New paint systems have been developed to meet low VOC requirement and facilitate painting comprise fewer layers compared to old paint systems having several layer of paints with high VOC. Present paint systems for bridges enable vert' long repair intervals. Painting conditions in workshops have improved considerably in the fast few years, and the risk of moisture condensing on the surface of steel before painting has been eliminated completely. Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 667.9 Revêtements et enduits Résumé : Small quantities of functionalised nanoclays hold great potential for the performance of conventional paint systems. Exfoliation, chemical compatibility and orientation are critical to enhance the barrier properties, resulting in improved corrosion resistance and fire retardancy. The novel coatings discussed in this article entail that a variety of different substrates can benefit from these properties. Note de contenu : - Surface treatment key for greatest barrier properties
- Hydrophilic nanoclay increases oxygen and humidity barrier
- Nanoclays reduce blistering and increase electrical resistance

Traîtements de surfaceIndex. décimale : 671.7 Finissage et traitement des surfaces Résumé : The eddy current process allows part racks made from electrically conductive materials to be quickly stripped of paint either partially or fully during the production process. The eddy current method is more efficient and uses significantly less energy than conventional induction systems. Note de contenu : - Energy-saving coating removal on the production line
- Eddy current versus conventional induction methods
- Rapid, partial heating of workpieces
